Why don't we have a thread for The Challenge?

Boy, they really didn't want Kyland to win it. Not taking any chances with all the swimming in the final.
I find it hilarious how salty he is about it.

Surprised Jenny's lungs are holding up... so far.

I just finished up the final challenge. I do not approve. Everyone else done?

Was part of renting that god-awful boat that it had to be the focal point of every event?

I thought it was a good season overall, with a tough but not that entertaining of a final.

Really surprised by how well Jenny did. I thought for sure the asthma would be a problem. If it was, they didn't show it and her finishes were strong. Jordan had a quietly great season. Did he even get thrown into elimination? Normally I want to see the winner also have an elimination but it's not like he hasn't proven himself.

Are they doing the whole recap show thing? I hope so. The new season starts in just a few weeks.

I can't believe it's happening but Michelle has become a strong player.

I liked the whole season, but HATED the final.

Michelle did well - surprising. Same with Derek's performance. All we found out though was how well people could swim. Boring.

I wondered that about Jenny. What happened to her asthma? Does it not impact swimming?

Why even have the guys compete in the end to be honest? It was just a swimming competition. The women were grouped closely enough together skill wise (at swimming!) that it was sorta fine. I guess.

What if Aneeeeesa made the final? She'd be dead right now. CT, possibly dead.

They could have just gone to the local Hilton or Marriott, jumped in the hotel pool and sent the dudes home.

Jordan is soooo much better at swimming, he wins first. Derek gets second, cuz no matter what he's going to trash Bananas in the "we like you" vote, and Kyland can't swim well, so he loses. Why put them through that boring final challenge for 2 days?

Also, the "challenges" after the swim were stupid. They posed almost no challenge whatsoever. "Hey, there are gonna be 8 rocks on the ground, swim some more, find the blue one amongst the other 7 red ones, and then swim back." Whaaat? They were all so stupidly easy that Jordan couldn't possibly lose with the 4 minute head start in each round. Kyland couldn't possibly catch up with the 8 minute penalty (from sucking at swimming).

Make them run a bit or do something.

Finally, the "speed math" was dumb as you really penalized anyone that had a slow swimmer behind them. Even if Bananas beats Kyland at math, he couldn't possibly catch Derek, because it took Kyland 73 extra minutes to get to the little island. So you're being penalized because the person behind you sucks? That's stupid.

Also, I think that was rigged a bit. Michelle had a question earlier that was like 29 - 9 * 2, and then against Bananas it was 30 - 10 * 2. He's a dunce, but he had no shot. She still had 40 in her mind from getting almost the identical question 2 people before. Then randomly a question would be like, 72 / 9 + 11. They're all easy, but these people are idiots, that's a monumental difference in math skills when you throw in division. LOLOLOL

I had issues! :) lol /rant

I think the "wrap up" or reunion episodes are on my OnDemand already - so it should be accessible??? I think.

There is a reason why TJ cackles like a maniac when they do trivia.

I know! I wanted more challenging mid-points! More trivia...hell, toss in an eating one!

Give it some drama outside of swimming!

I do enjoy the inevitable vomit shots from the eating challenges.

That said, combining eating with the swim would have been ROUGH.

Well, she does carry some additional flotation devices with her at all times.

Instead of just adding kharma points at the end, they should've awarded a kharma bank to each competitor before the final, scaled to the amount of votes they got.

Then at each station, they could choose to cash in kharma dollars for assistance or advantages. Maybe even have a price to get a ride back to the ship instead of swimming.

That would be much, much better! They really needed to add something to the "challenge" part.

Just caught up on reunion episode 1.

Absolutely fantastic that it starts with Nehemiah walking off stage to boot in a bucket with a hot mic.

Love the Amanda cameo.

Bananas has a slick suit.

Tina just dumping them out.

The Aneesa beef was weird.

I don't think Avery said a single word but her presence is absolutely delightful.

I can't figure out if Jordan's suit is really expensive or if he got it at a thrift store.

Tina really is just showing them off! I like her, more her and Amanda yelling on every season would be great.

Aneesa is very whiny. Corey is a whiny b*tch too.

Laurel is almost certainly my least favorite female. That being said, Cara is nuts. So I never know what to make of that feud. I don't mind Cara as much season to season...

I think Laurel is just sort of a nasty human being. Cara just seems like a nut, but a nicer one. She's always telling you things that people that possess those those traits don't much do - "I'm so confident now! After years and years I have the most confidence!!" "I've matured and I'm in such a good place!!" Then 20 minutes later is freaking out and crying. It's like she read a self-help book and just repeats these things to convince herself and others. She doesn't really stable to me. Her and that loser dude are a perfect couple. LOL

I feel like Michelle is kinda a bit like Cara - but not quite as bad. She could get there though if she gets obsessed with cross-fit.

Anyone watching All Stars Rivals?

Not a compelling season so far. Weak cast that compounded the issue by making weak duos. Not only that, they're back to rewarding the wrong things. You can tell TJ is annoyed by the lack of competitiveness.

They made it too easy to send one team in over and over. Should have groups of teams competing for immunity instead of just one winner.

And don't get me started on the mixed team eliminations which might make it impossible to have a banger like hall brawl. Did the "All Stars" hold out for easier events?

Watching this season of The Challenge is like watching an NBA team tank.

Just a lot of fringe talent and the wrong things are rewarded.

used to love these shows, have not watched in many years, they easy to jump back into? I know half cast from various reality shows now

the latest one not worth watching?
It's so bad. This All Stars Rivals season is a perfect storm of weak cast and terrible games making. Way too easy for poor performers to swing the game away from strong performers. And the whole "have to get a star for T.J.'s final" thing ended up being completely meaningless.

The previous season, the battle between the eras, was fantastic though.

Well, it's finally over. Now can we get back to a real Challenge instead of this sanitized geriatric version?

So I was channel surfing and came across a new reality show that looks kinda stupid called Destination X, and wouldn't you know, that big goofball Josh is part of the cast, and wouldn't you know, he was the first player eliminated.

It was hilarious.

Just got done watching episode zero of the new season. Was a bear to find. On YouTube TV I had to scroll through all of the seasons to get to extras, and then it was there as an option.

Some of the new people look interesting.

It's a fat CT season. Also, they are doing CT's pro tips. Keep 'em coming.

They had a shadow box kind of thing where the vets would pop up very dramatically while the newbies were getting interviewed by TJ, and they asked "why are you here?" It was cheesy as Hell, and the only thing that could have made it better would have been if it was sponsored by Burger King.

It took like two minutes to hear audio of Rogan saying his back hurt. Amazing.

Nia climbed the mountain in jeans.

They're doing a weird thing that makes the person's eyes in the confessional look strange. Hate it.

There's definitely some UK alliance type stuff brewing, which I think is good for the show. Way better than when people cluster alliances around the shows they were on (looking at you Big Brother).

Johnny is playing a horny game, and at his age and with his wins, I mean, why not? Looks like this season is leaning into the polidicking, and honestly, there's room for that.

There are some sleeper pairs - Turbo/America, Derrick/Leka, Cara Maria/Jake, Sydney/Leroy.

I'm cautiously optimistic that this is going to be a strong season.
