Why Doug Marrone can't watch Super Bowls

Yeah, I'm definitely more upset with how he left Cuse. He set up expectations with his background (alumnus) and his "Dream Job" talk that he was going to, if successful, become the football version of Boeheim. I don't hold it against him, he did what many of us would do, but it hurt at the time.

On the positive note, if he was still here we wouldn't have Babers. GO ORANGE!
He went to the bot and said he needed raises for his staff and they said no. They were one of the lowest paid staffs in the P5, maybe the lowest. He knew those guys were getting better offers and he wanted to keep the management team together. That is what you need to do. Well, then he got the job with the Bills and gave most of them substantial raises and SS got a big raise by staying behind and becoming HC. And now they throw many at Dino and his staff.

I understand that view point. But its not like he pulled a Vontae Davis or even an Anquon Boldin that went into camp with a contract and then just "retired" = quit. He didn't hold them hostage with his contract like LeVeon Bell (or maybe Antonio Brown now?). He utilized an out in his contract during the offseason like so many baseball and basketball players do. None of them are accused of "quitting on their team".

And his decision was due to the actions made by management and not to disrespect the players or fans. He felt the roster decisions (trading up for a WR and relying on EJ Manual at QB) and not letting him keep his staff, was detrimental to his success.

I quit my last job because we disagreed with how to improve sales. I felt like I could not be successful with their methods and left. You have never quit a job? Even if you left for different reasons, you're no better than Marrone and very hypocritical.

I’m very confident that I’m a better person than Doug Marrone.

There's a saying that everyone has the ability to make people happy: some by arriving, others by leaving.

Doug does not make people happy by leaving. It's because he's obviously a good coach. Each team he coaches gets better with him there and then gets worse when he leaves. The people who are mad at him are mad because they didn't want him leave and wish he were still there. (Unless they've moved on and have gotten another good coach.)

I’m a big Fitz fan. He has his inadequacies for sure, but the talent on the team at that time was still just being built upon. I think they cut his cord too early also. His biggest problem was that Chan Gailey’s gimmicky offense became too predictable. I would have liked to have seen him teamed up with Marrone & Hackett also.

I'm comfortable saying Fitz worst days are better than Peterman's best days.

Another part of the reason Fitzy was run out of town was because he didn’t live up to a contract that was too big and given to him too far in advance. I think Nix was trying to get away from a contract he was embarrassed by. The contract set him up for unfair evaluation his play and his future with the team.

Nah more like he quit. Quit on the club that gave him his first NFL head coaching gig after having a .500 ball club in the Big East.

He quit.
Coached the Bills to their first winning season in how many years? yeah...and took his $4M with him to his next job and is now in a much, much better HC situation. Worked out well for him.
