Why is Seton Hall playing AT Longwood?**

The broadcast team said that SHU is the first team from a BCS conference to play there.

Because more fans would attend a game at Longwood than on the campus of SHU???

they wanna get battle hardened by playing a road OOC game, claim a tougher schedule and gain kudos among the college hoops gurus. this will certainly be held over our heads by the sports writers when we play them ;)

Two words: Cash Guarantee.

No, it's a home-and-home:

Seton Hall has agreed to return the game and play in Farmville next November during the 2011-12 season, easily the highest profile opponent that will have played in Willett Hall when the Big East member visits next year.

“Playing these high profile opponents allows us to continue building the Longwood Basketball reputation around the country,” said Gillian. “We have not shied away from going to historic venues and playing the top level of competition that college basketball has to offer. The one thing that is different with this year’s schedule is that one of these games, with Seton Hall, will feature a return game here at Longwood during the 2011-12 season. That will be the first BCS conference opponent to venture into the confines of Willett Hall.”

Might be a future conference game?

I hear Longwood and SUNY-Cortland next to the Big East.

if we played at longwood, it would be considered a Syracuse home game.

So basically Seton Hall was cheap, and rather than pay Longwood for a guarantee game they made it a home-and-home? Wow.

I actually am pretty close with someone who plays on the Longwood team. They'll get killed but it's a big deal for them to host Seton Hall in their house
