Yeah I listened to some of Axes show and I don’t think he or Javon mentioned anything about a press conference but they maybe didn’t travel? Chris Carlson has no quotes from a press conference either, haven’t seen a story that quoted anything but the Miami coach and players. Maybe they didn’t have one?

The WAER kid that was there talked about what he said in it on the postgame show, so they had one.

Not sure how many media are still traveling to games with the way the season has gone. Maybe they’re not formal press conferences anymore if it’s a small group and Javon and Axe aren’t going on the road anymore.

Not that Fran would admit it and I would never expect a coach to but, he got mad at Carlson for asking if he needs to reassess how they get guys in the portal…this team missed pretty bad in portal outside of a few guys. Mostly in the trenches.

I'm sure he agrees but he's never going to blatantly throw his guys under the bus. Part of the reason of why he can get talent.

Portal evaluation is going to be a huge area to improve on in January.

The portal is how you fill holes. You cannot build an entire OL off 3rd stringer guys from big programs. Somehow we are going to build an entire DL in the offseason. Unless we can convert a few of our OL into DTs, 2026 may not be as rosy as everyone expects...

Yeah there seems to be a lot riding on the current freshmen, RS freshmen, and sophs in the program, as well as Angeli’s recovery timeline. The incoming class is very big (number of recruits), with a few high end guys.

I don’t know how many portal additions FB will target or can afford. But…we can’t afford to miss on portal evaluations and we can’t afford not to use the portal.

The lines are a big concern. I think 2027 is the year we need to look at for a break through. We have 2 big holes to fill on the OL, and lose all but Jobity from our 2 deep on the DL.

Priority #1: Keep what we have that we want to keep
Priority #2: A few good DL...
Priority #3: A QB2 that will push Carney/Filardi others down to QB3, but also challenge Angeli for QB1.

They're not going to be all-conference next year but Nyandoro and Ogebor the two Canadians have been getting a lot of snaps now.

Ogebor is like 6-6 320 and Nyandoro 6-6 275. Both absolutely massive guys and now with experience. Good building blocks with Perry.

From a lower level school. You're not finding one at a P4 school that wants to sit behind Angeli. Get a young guy outside the P4 that has shown potential andis looking to step up a level and he can learn for a year then compete for the starting job the following year. This should be our annual strategy along with trying to land then best prospects out of high school.

One of our co starters on the DL Perry has been out since about game 6, he will be back.
