- We are a Power 5 conference team – and a good one. We’ll have better athletes at virtually every position. I’m particularly interested to see how Army is going to cover our receivers. They have a good one in Alston but we’ll have three guys like that lining up for every play.

- I think the 3-3-5 is the perfect defense to combat an option-style game. It gives us plenty of options on defense- fast, hard-hitting ones. And we still have the personnel to guard against the deep pass from their one threat.

- I’ve seen good Power five teams deal with the option, not by just fanning out sideways but by penetrating before the quarterback can even get to make the pitch. We have the people who can do that.

- How is Army going to deal with Garrett Shrader, “The Shedder”. He made Purdue look silly. Of course, Army will have to make some adjustments of it’s own to deal with those sweeps and bootlegs. But I’m sure we’ve got a counter to those adjustments, probably having to do with getting the ball to our swift receivers.

- Junior Allen may not have the explosiveness of a healthy Sean Tucker but he can still have a huge impact on a game. He’s a solid runner, a solid pass receiver and a fine blocker who plays each play from beginning to end. He keeps showing up in clips of SU players scoring touchdowns as LeQuint has come out of the backfield to make the last block way downfield to spring them for the score and is escorting his teammate to glory.

- We’re back in the Dome so our near-perfect kicking game should be back in place.

- DeMarcus Adams is going to get one someday. Why not against Army?

- Adjustments? Which team will do the best job of making them? I like our chances.

3-0 and 9 – or 10 to go!

LET’S GO ORANGE!!!

I heard somewhere that their tallest corner is 5’11”.. covering our WRs should prove to be a nightmare for them. And as good as our Oline looked last week against Purdue, I think GS is going to be playing pitch and catch.

Just watched the condensed game for UTSA-Army

First off, wow that UTSA QB is horrible, dude couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn on long throws.

Second, they missed a ton of tackles, probably could’ve gotten off the field 3-4 times had they not missed third and medium tackles at the line.

Finally, the army defense is super susceptible to passes over the top, UTSA just needed a QB with the arm strength to get it there

And with that backup QB they still had three very long TD passes, so I would think/hope we can do that and then some

I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed this.

Shredder has mentioned on several occasions that LQ is as good without the ball in his hands as he is with it. This is a great example (plus his great hands and his great pass protection so far this year)

There are some people who are just wire to do 'whatever it takes' and LQ is definitely one of those people as is our QB and several other players on the '23 squad

These ingredients usally lead to better seasons than people expect, enjoy the ride!
