Lex Steele is an alum & likely available. Make him an offensive analyst, keep him away from the TEs, & be done with it.

Everything that happens is not reported. On top of that, there always opportunities to take lateral jobs if you are working under a administration that didnt hire you or one that doesn't have the same plan or vision as you. Dino had leverage. SU is considered a hard job. ( I hear that from several D1 coaches). The extension needed to show a long term commitment to him. Wildhack also needed to show that he's an AD that believes in what you are doing. In hopes of making SU a place where up and coming coaches will come here in the future.

Good stuff. I think this "we'll commit to you and give you every chance to succeed" is something a lot of schools can't or won't offer. There are some downsides (fans who think we're not holding a HC accountable) - but I think that sometimes stability is an undervalued commodity in coaching.

This AD has overseen a 6-17 football program the past two years and tied up this head coach with an unpalatable $17 million buyout in a contract restructure.

Please explain to me how that equals, "great AD"? I've got some other descriptions.
