Wildhack retiring July 1

The new AD had better not be in house. We need to clean house 100 percent and rebuild. The last decade has been rough.
Wondered at the time, if Wildhack was planning on retiring and that is why they brought in Heather Lyke. I agree with you, we need to hire from the outside.

This is not great timing. Leaves our basketball team in limbo. Who makes decision to fire. Who makes decision on new coach. New coach won’t want to come on with no plan for the AD.

Think this was announced now to find an AD prior to the process of the next basketball coach. But now these are tight timelines.

Some speculation the future AD is already in house, hope that’s not the case.
Soon to be former ADJW will make the hire, I have no doubt.

Jeff Goodman mentioning Hodgson as a potential candidate is one of two things:

Hodgson wants the job and that's a back channel to express interest.

He's a serious candidate on Syracuse side and his name goes into the public and fan sphere.

Either way it seems like the shortlist is probably firmed up.
It is

It’s a miracle it ever happened. There are some good YouTube documentaries about how close it was to not happening. MTV unplugged was an awesome show.
I’ll have to check those out

Damn all of you and your cryptic messages, now I’m refreshing every 30 seconds hoping for additional nuggets. Someone just DM what they are hearing

The portal opens in early April. New coach needs to be in place by early March.
Well that's not happening. Season doesn't end until March 7.

Doesn't mean you can't have someone in place by March 15-20, but a lot will depend on who they target and are they still playing in the NCAA Tournament.

That said, no matter what happens, I don't anticipate next year being a magical year that comes together and things are immediately fixed.
