Wildhack retiring July 1

Nice deflection ha
Not really a deflection because im still not even sure what point you were trying to make. Like people who attend the games were just as upset with the product with those that don't. So the idea that it’s just freeloaders who are complaining is wrong. So to try and prove that i pointed out that attendance dropped which meant people who had been paying to see them play stopped paying, likely because the product sucked.

I said the loudest voices on social media don't support the program in any way so we shouldn't dont' care what they say and you just deflected back to a generic statement that people don't like the product in general so attendance is down.

The problem with that statement is I know people who’ve supported the program, but stopped because we have turned into a dumpster fire. They are still complaining. We are like a bad business. We’ve stopped investing in innovation and have not evolved so we’ve lost.

In that case I think your point is a deflection as well. It’s not just loudmouths on social media who thought Fran quit on the year, just because they were vocal about it doesn’t mean others don’t believe it. Whether he actually did or not is up to your interpretation but once he sat the starters and started playing younger guys who were over matched it was clear he had given up on the season.

So for you and cusefan0307 my question would be should their opinion matter more than the people who are actually supporting the program whether it be big or small?

Another name to watch. Michael Paulus led the formation of the Legends Society and headed CAF when the Lally gift was announced. He has moved to the academic side as assistant dean of Whitman and is very highly thought of. Might he be intrigued by a move back to Athletics?

And Greg can be Red's replacement.

I've had his name in the back of my mind but I didn't want to throw it out there and have it be a stupid idea. My understanding is he was a huge part of the fundraising for the Legends Society when it first debuted and I kind of hated to see him go to the academic side. (Speaking as a SU sports fan and not an alum)

If Gmac gets Siena to the sweet 16 do we honestly think he wouldn’t be the next hc?

March will matter. That Tobin guy became Iona’s coach because of the win.
Short of winning the national title with Siena Gerry is not an option.

Would be more efficient use of everyone's time if you actually gave a reason.
He expanded on it in this post from earlier this month. I happened to remember it because I was interested in the thoughts behind his strong opinion... and I have no life so I am able to remember random posts on syracusefan.com :)

The best player on USF followed him there from Arkansas State. Only one example but if players really hated him would a talented guy follow him to a new school?

The new AD won’t be the one hiring the new basketball coach, most likely. The new coach will need to be in place before July.

That works out in the new AD’s favor. If the coach works out, they have nothing to worry about. If the coach doesn’t work out, they don’t take any of the blame and get to fire him and pick their guy.

And NIL money is absolutely a factor in HC hiring decisions. That doesn’t mean the big donor gets to pick who they want and that’s if. But it would be malpractice for an AD not to consider NIL money in the hiring decision.

I think there is going to be overlap. While JW might officially make the hiring decision, the replacement is supposed to be on board by then, and will hopefully be involved in interviewing the new coach, since the new coach is going to be working for him,

Agreed. I’d imagine a lot of this has been hashed out already.

The two best players from Arkansas State followed him to USF. I’m sure they really hated him.

Just complete BS, and I also have that on good authority.
