In all seriousness, when insiders are basically just passing along rumors from their sources, who themselves may have an agenda, it's in the interest of this board and the powers that be NOT to allow this place to become TMZ. The Hodgson circus here is Exhibit A.

If my friend that has worked with Hodgson confirms what others have said here, I will share it as a direct bit of info from somebody who would know instead of some thirdhand story. But... if it's true... I think I would have already been told/warned. I suspect he's just a strong personality that rubs people the wrong way.

In other words, a jerk. As many successful coaches often seem to be.

Actually, I know for a fact that what I posted is true... at least for some.

I have some points of contact in my network that would know about Hodgson if what you say is true. For curiosity's sake, I will see what they have to say. I haven't bothered asking about him because I doubt that he will end up being the next HC.

I don't doubt he rubbed some people the wrong way by advocating for himself at SU.

That part doesn't bother me. It's other stuff I have heard directly from people.

The dude grew up in Olean and went to JCC & Fredonia. Doesn’t it stand to reason some on this board might be from somewhere around there and know people that know him? That area of the country isn’t exactly big - everyone knows everyone.

I’ll add that Nate Oats is a complete fraud and it's no wonder JB didn't like him at all. Look at the self-serving way he has approached the NBA kid trying to get eligibility. He is as selfish as they come, and in the long run that type of stuff will come back to bite any program you are with. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I want Syracuse basketball to be the best it can be. I have no agenda. I have a lot of people I know either from WNY or in the college basketball business who are not fans of the guy. People that I trust. That's enough for me.

Nate Oats fractured Boeheim's ego by beating him in the Dome in December 2018, which started rumors that Oats could potentially take Boeheim's job. That's why Jim didn't like Nate Oats.

As I stated in another thread, Oats has taken Alabama to two Sweet 16's, an Elite 8 and a Final 4 since 2020 while we have endured painful, yet predictable, mediocrity watching Boeheim be put out to pasture and continuing our decline with a lazy continuity hire.

Not sure why you want to take personal shots at me - after all, as you said, "I want Syracuse basketball to be the best it can be." For me, that means hiring Hodgson, who has an impressive background and has made his teams better. It seems that all of your "arguments" against Hodgson are just part of your own agenda against him.

I have an agenda to want what's best for Syracuse basketball. If Hodgson was the best candidate, I'd be all for it.

I am reiterating that it would be a bad idea for Syracuse to hire this clown.

It is not a personal agenda. He is not a representative I would want as the head coach of my alma mater based on everything I have heard. Simple as that.

Going through all of my posts and disliking and laughing at all of them was my reasoning.

As for Oats, that's part of it but not all of it. He knew Oats was paying guys to go to Buffalo. Everyone knew. That's more of the reason than anything else.
