Wildhack Tidbits

They did introduce some new beer options, got a stone ipa. Excellent
Has anyone brought up the mixed drinks in a can they were selling?!! I was hammered but they were delicious. I had an orange vodka and soda and a rum and cola one. They were $10 but I was biting. I was all beer'd out from drinking since noon. I can't remember the brand but it was a nice option.

That is an awesome option. I have been there before where you just can't get another beer down but still want to drink. "Time to switch to cocktails!" I guess the Dome authority realizes that there are a lot of drinkers in upstate NY. ;)

I found it! Lots of choices

Season Ticket Holders,

In a previous email, you were invited to join us on Saturday, September 9th, at our Season Ticket Holder Pre-Game Tent.

The tent will be located on the Quad, and will be marked with a "Season Ticket Holder" sign. An RSVP is not needed.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Go Orange!

Sit down I can't see.

This has been the problem for years, honestly. The classic games in the late 80's, and 90's were full of people that stood up most of the game. No disrespect, but those folks have moved, are gone, or elderly now.

We just don't have the energy we used to. When we start winning 8, then 9, then 10, the fans will come. I really don't mean any disrespect, but damn, the times I've been told to sit down is just hilarious, obnoxious...I don't know the word.

It's like a movie theatre in the Dome at times. The generational gap will flip with Dino. It's like a neighborhood growing up when you had a ton of kids outside. Then, nothing. Just a part of life. We will fill the Dome up again once we beat LSU.

hey i got the email this time.. it was in my clutter folder.. of course i never would have looked for it if not for this board.

I'll say it: they stink at mass emails. Absolutely stink at it

My understanding is they're trying to figure out how to make the quad work for what you are saying.
Interesting. Details? They've been resistant to this no-brained idea for
years.

I never remember having a problem hearing Carl. But since the Veley days every play seems like it's being called by Charlie Brown's teacher.

Some of it could be because I used to always sit lower Bowl and now we're upper deck endzone (albeit first row). Some of it could be because I'm losing my hearing I'm sure. But, like others, I just think the sound system is flawed.
Carl's voice was more articulate. Acoustics are probably better with a full house too.

Careless kids produce this stuff, but there's no adult who cares about good work doing any editing or supervision.

By the way, it took 9 pages, but put me down as someone who hated the whistle and hope it never comes back. Cheap minor-league hockey noise that only highlighted the void of a couple thousand people cheering for a touchdown. Awful.

Honestly, i can't tell what segment of the population the AD is trying to appeal to. No WiFi, lames skits, terrible sound system, and no effort to involve the crowd is going to make it difficult to appeal to anyone under 50. This includes die-hards as they can't justify to themselves or there spouses sitting there for four hours with no amenities or engagement in comparison to your couch.

No re-entry policy: what is the psychology behind this? It seems like a cheap, strong arm tactic to try to force people to stay. Sometimes people need fresh air after standing in the stale Dome environment.

.

If I was giving you an educated guess on the 'no re-entry' it would be the easiest way to police no smoking. If say 50 people go outside it would be tough for security to stop people from smoking. Lame, I know.

i agree totally lame.

Effective July 1, 2015, Syracuse University is a tobacco-free campus. There are no designated smoking areas on campus. The aim of Syracuse University's tobacco-free policy is to create a healthy environment to live, work and learn.

I figured it was just a matter of it being a hassle to do the security screenings again but who knows

But effective this sports year there is no smoking outside the dome. All the last two years the Dome was free from that rule on game days.

Clearly they don't need to hand you a smoking pass if you can't smoke anymore.

They should just hire Jason Smorol to be Director of Gameday / Fan Experience

Not always a fan of his but he busts his rump and is always coming up with something for the Chiefs

This is a great idea. We need someone who's job is to do nothing but try and make the fan experience better. He's done a nice job in his current role.

I hear you about the whistle however, I think it is much better then the bell. What would be your suggestion as a replacement? I do think they need something after a score.

As has been said - why not both?

Whistle right afterwards. Then toll the bell for how many points it was.
Everybody's happy.

I imagine this is a big factor. All the exposed metal bleachers and concrete due to lack of attendance most likely reflects the sound around turning it into a big, murky, wash of sound with little clarity.
