He was 5 stars in both IIRCIf Paulus decided to play football at first, what would have been his Rating?

This is similat to the Rutgers fans. Regardless of a recruit's resume if he declares for Rutgers they all belive he is the messiah that will deliver them to national glory. Itsd funny and sad at the same time . Collectively they are the dumbest group of fans in the countryI think Texas, in general, really does recruit the cream of the crop in Texas, but this is definitely how things go with Texas recruits. No matter who Texas offers and when, if they're from the state of Texas, they're a 4 star about 85-90% of the time regardless of their true talent level or progression during their senior year.
You see this with USC as well. If they're from Cali and offered by USC, they're a 4 star about 85-90% of the time.
Yeah Cecil was one of those "You gotta be kidding" prospects. I watched him in warm ups at the Big 33 game at Hershey and said no way this guy plays for Syracuse as a Div1 QB. He could not throw the ball over ten yards with anything on the ball with no one in his face. How he was offered a scholarship by anyone is a crime.A total waste as a. His competition in high school must have been pathetic.:crazy:Wasn't Cecil Howard a 5 star recruit? I swear I remember Beano Cook predicting he'd win two Heismans at Syracuse. Oh what might have been.
Yes, but it will be either a local kid, a legacy or someone within 3-4 hours of Syracuse. Our last one was Johnnie Morant.
That is it. It is 100% political, and frankly, it is all bullshit. The recruiting sites clearly trend the rankings higher if it is a bigger school. If Zach Allen were a Texas commit right now, he would be a minimum low 4-star.
the fact that Scout still has him in the 80's of the current QB crop is a disgrace. So glad this site was put together, so I could stop feeding them my money.
its funny you say that today...
i was going to respond that they just haven't updated in a while - so i went to confirm ranking.
he moved up! to 77...
and austin moved down to 97...
:bang:
that is plain ridiculous. How do you rank at kid that was in the Elite 11 (and reports have him as no. 1 in the group that got knocked out of the finals), playing in 5A Texas and Oklahoma, UT and Tech have started coming after that low?
77 is ridiculous...
however, he didnt make the elite 11... whether he is considered 10 or 22, its still really good and its still a lot better than 77.
He was in the Elite 11, just not the Finals. At least that's what I recall them calling the Top 25.
Zach was one of 24 or 25 QB's that were invited to compete in the finals to make the Elite 11.not really... they made a tv show a few years ago (maybe even this year) and added a tryout aspect to it. the top 11 are the elite 11. therefore he didn't really make that. That's not to take away any of his accomplishments though...

Ok...sorry about that.yeah exactly. a great achievement and by all accounts did well there... just not enough to make the elite 11.
that was my point...
I know its a silly question, but after reading article after article about 5 star kids committing and decommitting, you wonder if SU could ever/will ever land a 5 star talent.[/quot
Does it really matter. Jones was a 2 star coming out of hs and he is a starting DE for the Patriots. Maybe they should shoot for high 3 star and 4 star players.
The last 5 star that really made a difference at SU was Tim Green and I don't know if they had that type of designation back then

At least he made he traveling squad.Zach was one of 24 or 25 QB's that were invited to compete in the finals to make the Elite 11.
