Was that the lowest scoring game in NCAA Tourney history (64+ team tourneys)???

Georgetown beat SMU 37-36 in 1984, the year before the tourney went to 64 teams.
Well done. Do I get points for being close, having half of the teams, and no score?

Wisconsin 36, Pittsburgh 30.

This was from the 1941 Final Four.

75 years ago. Oh Lord

A couple of other factoids...according to the Christian Science Monitor as of 3/2010.

Tourney records.

Not many are broken from year to year. In fact, only one was last year, by Arinze Onuaku of Syracuse. The 6 ft. 9 in. forward made 15 of 19 field-goal attempts in three games (a minimum for a “series” record), giving him an unsurpassed 78.9 percent accuracy rate.

Points scored by one team in a single game: 149

… by Loyola Marymount against Michigan in 1990.

That one with SMU...
That was 1984 with only 53 teams. Guess that Maryland/Villanova one, 46-43, in 1985 might be it. That was the first year with 64 teams.

Stupid Pitt, couldn't have just grabbed that rebound and possibly grabbed the record...

Oh wait! 1985 also saw Kansas beat Ohio 49-38. OH MY! That has to be the record.

classy move by pitt their band is sticking around and playing for weber state they all get 15 dollars as well
