I am even more old school than this (think Ernie Davis uniform simplicity) ....unfortunately, there seems to be much more money for the University in the garish, the novel and the abstrusely symbolic (although I could live with the 44-Fort Drum symbolism placed in its current, somewhat understated position).

I guess my September wish would be for the Yankees to easily clinch and to be setting up their rotation for a deep October run.

That...and for Cruz' knee to be 100% so he can man the slot like a champ and to keep the pressure off of ODB.

Of course September would be a good time to be sobering up after a summer of celebrating a NYR Stanley Cup.

Would the 2012 uniforms work? Personally I thought those were the best. They were basically a more current edition of the ones you posted. I know I wouldn't want the same one's that Donnie Mac wore. Those are outdated.

But yet if we put 10 different versions of pink & green in front of the cattle...let them decide on stripes or no stripes, high & tight arm or lose arm, throw in an alternate gray etc...I guaranfluckintee they will say its awesome and tweet a 1000 pictures of them, telling the world they love em.

I'm really, really hoping that none of the parents from the recruiting side take your cattle comments to heart. If some arse called my kid cattle, I'd be pretty offended.

put me in the middle on uniform discussions as I want something more modern looking than Mcnabb era but don't love what we put out this year especially the 80% blue combo but orange pants might make that acceptable

And I agreed for the most part. Point is - at some point there were a bunch of old guys shaking their fists in the air about switching away from our tradition and adopting orange as our official color.

I've not said a single extreme thing in the whole UNI conversation. I'm very much down the middle - but have taken multiple hits from everyone defending the players rights to have opinion on what they wear. I've had people question my fandom for that opinion.

While Kaiser has openly used a derogatory term to describe some very good young men - while we have 3 sets of parents of current recruits posting regularly.

But yeah - more "Syracuse" in the Uni's would go a long way.

Judging by the current landscape, lawsuits and potential changes to how the student/athlete is viewed...the parents here likely agree with me.

I was making that case before the season. And I think it was successful with a couple of the combinations. But overall - it's clear we need more orange. I can man up and admit when I'm wrong.

As for the cattle thing - it's clear your a lawyer type. You really had to dance to get out of that. It was masterful. But I think you meant it in a different way. Meaning - they should fall in line and just do what they are told - like cattle. Unthinking, unfeeling, "you got one job" meat.

But, whatever. I'm in the holiday mood and just want to see this team wear more orange on the way to some victories. I think we can agree on that.

The only thing gross and the SUAD have done...is pass blame on the Un-Syracuse look of the unis off on the players.

Pretty pathetic.

Syracuse has the unique ability to pull that off.

Orange can be a tough color to pull off, granted one would think the Syracuse Orange should do it every game, but whatever...the Orange pants and Orange helmet should be the staple that we work off of.

Going white tops at home would really create that Syracuse look. Then do your 1 offs of of that base
