I wonder if some recruits choose to push off signing, so they can visit other places. You don't have to sign on NLI day. If not, I think it's very good for Rutgers that this happened so late giving their recruits very little time to visit and be wooed by other schools.

Thats a good point OP. The lack of time, may force some of them to ride it our with RU. The big timers (Caroo) can wait as long as they want. A school will always make room for a kid like that.
 
NLI day is merely the first day that recruits can sign with their school of choice. Assuming they have a place to go they can wait until they're ready to commit.
