Entering week nine of women’s Division I action, it’s the No. 1 Maryland Terrapins leading the charge after opening the Big Ten in dominating fashion. Following their former ACC foe, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 3 Boston College, No. 4 Duke and No. 5 Virginia round out the top five.
Despite the 16-5 setback at the hands of Maryland, No. 6 Northwestern remains in the top ten, and is followed by No. 7 Syracuse, No. 8 Stony Brook, No. 9 Florida and No. 10 Penn. The Quakers enter the top ten for the first time this season, as their 8-1 start is tied for second best in program history.
No. 11 Stanford falls out of the top 20 this week after suffering a 17-15 setback at the hands of No. 14 Penn State, and No. 16 Princeton drops three spots after their two-goal loss to Delaware, 12-10.
USC, UMass and Delaware are receiving votes in this week’s Media Poll...
