Didn't realize there were complaints. Wouldn't bother me for a second if both were on same forum. Sheesh
Unfortunately posts on the men’s board ended up being a referendum on women’s basketball even being watchable etc. “My high school boys team would kill UConn women’s team”, “you can’t compare them at all with the advantage of using a smaller ball”
on and on.

Lame. To the point made earlier probably many who have never picked a ball up in a competitive game at least.

Growing up we always had co ed pickup games and the girls held their own just fine which included two classmates who ended up playing college ball and those games included good players both boys and girls.

I wish women’s college b-ball was televised more. It’s a different game than the men’s and there’s pros and cons to both, but in some aspects it’s a better game to watch, for me at least. Seems like the games are often less ragged and have more of a natural flow to them.

I will say it's been refreshing how many games you can catch via ACCN, ACCNX FS1 etc. Lots more than in the past. On Hulu I regularly could catch a girls game almost every day.

I guess I was thinking more in regards to the SU women. It’s better, but still either a hassle or not possible to watch many of them.

Johnson came in shooting 24 pct from 3...so at least in the scouting report it was a good gamble. Given the dominance of SC can't blame them(Iowa) for doing anything and everything defensively to prevent giving up easy buckets inside.

On the year as well on 20 pct of SCs total shot attempts were from 3 and as a team they only shoot it at 31.2 pct.
Exactly. That was the strategy to pack the defense inside since that was SC's strength. They only shoot 31 percent from 3 as a team with Johnson 24 pct, as you mention. Now, once she made her 2nd completely wide open three, I probably would have at least made a little effort to get out on her before she made that 3rd. But it worked out in the end for Iowa.

Oh sure. Next thing you’ll want is communal bathrooms at the Dome, meaning an end to pee troughs.

Elite 8 on I typically prefer the ladies tournament. Especially years we aren't part of the Big Dance. First 3 rounds are the best thing in sports but you definitely get fatigue watching teams you mostly dislike while being pissed Syracuse isn't in it. Womens I just pay attention to the big time players and I typically like everyone but Uconn.

The one downside of WBB is that blowouts are more likely because women get up 10-15 points and don't take their foot off the gas they put the knife to the throat of the oppenent and before you know it the game is over and the lead is 30. Mens hoops a team can go on a great 10 point run and all the other team has to do is call a timeout and they'll give the 10 points right back.

It seems like there’s less dribbling and more passing.

Maybe my perspective is skewed because I mostly watch Cuse, though.

On a different message board, I once read posts from a bunch of out of shape, 30-40 year old men who had never been in a fight in their adult lives debate if they could beat Ronda Rousey in a MMA fight. Some of these cream puffs were convinced that they could win because they were bigger.

Anyone else rooting for LSU?

I like Kim Mulkey and am still annoyed at all the heat she took for making common sense comments about corona during the 2021 FF. Also not thrilled at the nasty things said about South Carolina after the game.

My GF is from Zambia so they only get NBA (good NBA coverage multiple channels showing games every night) but zero exposure to college hoops or WNBA she played a ton but never watched much ladies ball. She was hooked after watching the end of that game Friday night.

This is such a big deal in the state of Iowa. They are good in men's basketball and football, but not national championship good. They've won a ton of championships in wrestling, but that's more of a regional big deal. This would be their first "nationwide" national championship.

Rooting for Iowa. Clark is just so fun to watch. She’s like Bird x Steph.

Mulkey already has her chips. I was at the HoF induction when she was inducted. MJ intro’d her.

But Clark took down South Carolina. I want to see her bring this home.
