Playing against guys as practice isn't unique at all. Tennessee had been doing that for years and I even know of local high schools that have done it for ages.

Sorry Geno and Summit went at it for years prior to her "diagnosis"because anyone worth their salt coaches the men, he didn't start crushing it until summit got dementia. there is no money in coaching women anywhere except yukon, all the good coaches coach the men or in the nba. name a women's coach in the AAC
Was she talking about Dixon again? That was pathetic, turned it off at that point.
That Doris felt the need to jabber on like that didn't reflect well on Connecticut or the game in general.
Do you know if other women's college teams do that? If not, then props to Geno for ratcheting up the level of competition his team faces, which only makes them better, along with the boot camp workouts.
Thanks. I deleted my post cause somebody else posted this but you are quick my friend and answered it before I deleted it!Pat Summit used to get guys to practice against her teams.
I remember they started doing it at Le Moyne when I was there. Thought about joining, but I was friends with all the girls and didn't want to embarrass them (or more likely, get embarrassed by them).
Cherie. I went in to get those season tickets. Two area came up and I could not distinguish them. CRTS Row A seat 5, and CRTE Row B seat 101. I think courtside side and courtside end, but was not sure, so was going to call tomorrow. It was too late for today. I was thinking of getting one, and then donating it back to athletics to use if that is a possibility. But I plan to get one. Plus I made a donation to the matching fund from the Tiricos.
I don't know why Danielle Minot did not play at the end. Actually now looking at the box score she was not on the bench. I think 2-3 players had to be off for each game, so maybe she was on the bench on Sunday, and off on Tuesday. The others were in the stands.
I am pretty sure Brittney is not coming back. I said something to her about I know this is probably it for her, and how much I enjoyed her, and she did not say anything to dispell that. She was pretty emotional when she got back to the hotel. And I think the emotion was more about the end of a season and the end of SU. She has her degree, and I don't know if she gets her masters this spring, then what would she do, another masters? I think she needs to go do her professional thing.
I think your friend is b.s.ing you there are NCAA rules against student athletes playing intramural sports. There have been cases where athletes have lost a year of eligibility for playing intramural sports.
A very good friend of mine and former teammate is in the Sports Hall of Fame for Lemoyne (basketball). She graduated around 1981.
What difference does it make. My daughter ran sprints in college. I didn't sit there thinking she'll never beat Usain Bolt. I enjoyed the competition, could appreciate the training and the technique. In the UCONN game, I saw women playing hard, running the court, making shots. I didn't see Tyler Lydon taking off from the foul line to dunk the ball off the back iron when he could have pulled up and taken a jumper in the lane. That's not the women's game. I get it

A friend of my youngest daughter played intramural soccer while she was redshirting a year and was penalized a year of eligibility.Pretty sure that's not true. If so, it's very recent (last ~5-7 years) rule change.

My daughter graduated college in 2008. This girl was around her age (+or- a year).
ok. was wrong about Brittany. She is returning for her 5th year!!! Even she surprised herself, she said.

Did you purchase seat 5? It was available last night, now gone. If so I purchased seat 6. Obviously from AZ I will not be attending if you need to use it at all. I would like people in the seats also. Although I may first see if I can "donate" it back to athletics as part of the matching campaign.just got myself a courtside seat too
I have no worries about Brittney and her advancing in life. She is smart, composed. I know she was looking to go into sports broadcasting. She interview extremely well, and also when you see her do those little interviews that they set up, she is also very good at it.With the low pay in the WNBA she may be doing much better long term by returning and getting that second degree too. It's overseas that the women make big bucks. Hoping she stays injury free, gets that second degree and sets herself up for life .
Good for her. That's a really smart move. And she's right, the WNBA will be there next year (or Europe), but getting the 2nd degree now, while she can is a very good decision.
yes I did! If you don't end up donating it I could purchase it from you for some of the games if it's available. Awesome, I'll get to meet you at some point this year!Did you purchase seat 5?
