Would it be possible to add a thread rating

Allow each user to like a thread - the entire thread not just individual posts, and then on the main page display a percentage of likes/views figure that would in theory allow you to quickly identify the more worthwhile threads?

No, but there may soon be a rating system similar to Amazon - five stars instead of "likes." Those rating a post could be anonymous, or known. If it were similar to reddit, the top rated posts would be on top.
