Your AD recently talked about games with PSU and an unnamed Big Ten School. Some are speculating it could be us. What do you think?
Agree to disagree. We recruit NJ excellent because the staff is either from there or closely tied to the region. That said I get it would be easy for players and families. Good point there. That said should we play Villanova so we can recruit PA? No we don't. As a fan I would much rather have a series with a Michigan state, Wisconsin, Illinois or Iowa (lots of options). It's not about losing the occasional to Rutgers. It's about having good wins at the end of the season. Rutgers will never be considered a good win. Who you beat matters both for rankings and playoff and for the new ACC payout system. If Rutgers is vying for the same NJ recruits it would be great to have them in person in NJ when we play and offer an easy road trip for their families every other year. IF Cuse is to ve a viable option this should be a game we want for recruiting and a yearly W. If we're afraid of potential upside of Rutgers we should fold up shop.
The following is a list of Big Ten teams I’d schedule before letting the Rutgers trash into the JMA Wireless Dome or subjecting our team to having to play in SH(i)T Stadium:
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Maryland
Michigan
Michigan State
Minnesota
Nebraska
Northwestern
Ohio State
Oregon
Penn State
Purdue
USC
Washington
Wisconsin
UCLA
In fact, I would rather schedule an away game against the only former Big Ten member, Division III University of Chicago.
Al,is a good dude. He actually came to one of our tailgates once and I had a chance to talk with him. He’s delusional, but a good dudeSo appreciate everyone likes Al, by all means he seems like a really nice guy from what everyone says but other than regionally close, I don't see the value and upside. We already strongly recruit NJ with our staff. They aren't what I would consider a rival. Rutgers has no reputation as a winning program that would look good on a future SU season resume. All time record is Syracuse 36 to 12 Rutgers. I can see why Rutgers would want it for recruiting. There's upside for Rutgers and negligible value for Syracuse. Pass.

I said he was delusional. lol.I still like to think it is Rutgers AI and not Rutgers AL. Which makes him an AI chat bot and not real. It explains a lot of his takes.
Still in useWhat is the status of the Rutgers Fieldhouse?
Just to have you on this board more would be awesome. Your irrational optimism is fantastic.Never stop being you, sir.Great, let’s make it happen!
BC100%, I'd like to play Rutgers. Every year. I think it could be a a fun almost but not quite rivalry. I mean, neither school has anything remotely close to one today.
I think that a Syracuse vs. Rutgers game would be a big draw for both teams. Neither team is terrible, so it would likely be a competitive game. I don't believe the majority of Rutgers fans hate Syracuse (although there's something to be said for the NY/NJ thing). We know that there is a lot of venom from the Cuse side (the infamous dumpster fire thread) probably due to conference jealousy, recent losses, who claims to be New York's team, etc. It kind of reminds me of the Yankees vs. Red Sox stadium tours. The Yankees really don't talk much about the Red Sox on their tours, but if you go on the Fenway tour, the rivalry is mentioned several times.
I'm a fan of nostalgia, so it would be fun to see a matchup of two former Big East schools. I say we do it. Plus, who wouldn't want to see Fran go against Schiano?
