I would take him as interim coach till the end of the year.
Need to get Red out of here.

Could certainly be part of the interview mix for the full time coach depending on how things went as interim.
A risk with firing Red early and putting in an interim coach is that the interim coach is very likely to look much better than Red and the team could win many meaningless games.

Suddenly then some media, fans and players want the interim coach going forward and Syracuse misses out on hiring a new coach that would do much better for the program.

Why is there an addiction to finding someone who went to or coached at SU? It's time to go far away from that and establish a new identity.
Is this serious? The addiction is just the opposite. I see nothing but posts and comments on the radio condemning the selection of somebody from Syracuse as the next guy.

How does Hop compare as an NIL fundraiser compared to these mid major buzzy names???? We need Xs and Os plus somebody who will inspire the donor and corporate class to open their pocketbooks. Money will take care of recruiting more than anything

Love Hop. He should have gotten the job 10 years ago. And I think he would have done pretty well - much better than what we are seeing now.

But that ship has sailed.

I think he would have done better than Red, and I think he would have recruited better here than at UW, since his contacts were stronger on the East coast, but ultimately he was more limited than our fanbase believed. Not sure he would have been successful long-term.

Dan Englestadt and his 72-90 record at Mt St Marys wont turn this around neither would Griffin and Straughns 0-0 Head coaching record turn it around enough to build momentum for hiring them.

Going to be honest, he will get an intervioew. So prepare yourself
You actually know this? As I’ve said before, Wildhack should already know his #1 and be doing everything to angle to land him. Yes, he’ll need a couple of backup candidates, but Hop won’t be that guy. And I love Hop. I wish JB had retired in 2017 and Hop had his chance to prove himself back then at his alma mater.
