WOW - MSU vs Wisconsin

Unbelievable -- i've never seen anything like that ever.

That was the correct call, the light on the backboard went off before it left his hand. Stupid announcers are caught up with the "clock" and don't even mention the light.

This is a great point, I forgot that the light was used before the clock. That was the right call. Damn, I wanted that to count.

Good call. Bo Ryan just lost his sh it. Agree that I have never seen the clocks not synched like that.

Are you sure this isn't football and like 2+ months ago?

Amazing -- Izzo mentioned that in his post-game interview. Two nutty endings between these two schools ending on reviews.

Tough week for Wisc fans and "clocks": They lose the Rose Bowl last night after the refs go to a replay clock to see if Russel Wilson got of the last snap, and he didn't.

They go to the replay to see if the 3pt shot counts vs. MSU tonight...and he it didn't.

If someone wants to fluck with Wiscy fans, they should start bombarding them with different clocks, watches, timers, etc.

I wish they'd revise the rule. Common sense says they need to use the clock with the most time on it. The player can't be required to look at/compare both clocks. Suppose he could only see one of them? He can only make decisions based on the information he has.

This is why they use the light around the backboard. It was clearly late.

Light on the backboard is the rule, not the clock. The reason being, the 3 digit clock actually has time left on it (the computer does) even when it reaches "00.0", like "00.0001", "00.000001". Milliseconds, but they still count. When the light goes off on the backboard, there is not time remaining (the computer has reached true zero).

I am pretty sure it goes clock, light then horn.

Well this loss will surely solidify Wisc as the clear number 1 in KenPom system.

That happened in a Seton Hall-Oklahoma State game at the Dome (Sweet Sixteen, I think, in the late '90s). Not sure if they've fixed the problem (we've since gone to new baskets with fancy transparent shot clocks the new lights/buzzers), but I guess the big scoreboard clocks (including the ones on the third-deck facade) were meant for football and not synchronized with the basketball arrangement.

If I had to guess, I'd say that the play involved Desmond Mason and the made three was disallowed.
