Wow talk about a tough schedule

if he dont win this year -yes he will be gone

your the one who acts like your the greatest fan

FWIW... I don't think this issue is about Marrone... It's about this aberration of a schedule...

This falls squarely on TGD... People aren't going to renew season tickets for this... you can debate whether they should or shouldn't all you want, but there will be a measureable drop in season ticket sales due this schedule.

The question is, how much?

While I encourage you to keep your tickets I can understand why you would drop them and why other local fans are very frustrated. The NYC crowd on here loves to take shots at the locals when 90% of them dont come to a single game.
its because the locals only bitch and complain. maybe its because NYCers tend to be ALUMNI and its very hard to take a shot at the program, and if we do its given with a rational solution. where all the CNYers fire away at will and complain endlessly about who is on the schedule, at what time its set to kick, if its worthy of them...and then threaten to not buy their $100 worth of season tickets if these criteria arent met. roscoespony here is exhibit A.

Oh Lord

people also dont have much faith in marrones skills right now- i bet its 50/50

Since when does SU go on the road OOC and win? And surely you notice Mizz's recruiting class this year?

Did we not just beat a better WVU team on the road not 2 seasons ago? You can use the "but it wasn't OOC" to bolster your argument, but if a good Syracuse team can win in Morgantown, then a good Syracuse team can win in Columbia. If we happen to be a good, bowl-worthy team, then we certainly can beat Mizzou on the road. What are you so scared of?

Isn't that a different thread? Regardless thats one person and once he has time to think about it im sure he will change his mind.
Page 1, this thread. Not trying to be a pr1ck. Just sayin'...

becoming quite evident that we have 2 sides -

those who have eternal hope based on fiction and fairy dust

and those who are apprehensive about the state of the program based on what they have seen

We have the cranky old men who have forgotten that not 2 years ago we won a bowl game, won 8 games, and beat conference opponents on the road (Hint: thats you). We aren't world beaters yet, but 2010 did happen.

Then we have the realists, who understand that the conference realignment left us in a scheduling pickle and we ended up with only 5 homers. Big friggin deal. If you care to see 6 games, hit the road for one of them. A good amount of people on this board make it a point to hit up some roadies and support the team. I have a sneaking suspicion you aren't one of them.

There are 9 out of 12 games within a 4-5 hour drive. By the way, road games are also a ton of fun. Stop whining and try it. You can sleep on my couch.

Im not discounting the WVU win but again your comparing apples to oranges. We have no idea if this is a "good" Syracuse team yet and SU's road record OOC is abysmal. I am just not seeing the confidence that you are that SU can win this.

2 out of those three were Conf games and the ND win was Athur Jones taking over.

You literally ALWAYS have an excuse. I guess those don't count because they were conference games. Good lord. And ND? That didn't count because Antwon Bailey had a great game. What in the world are you talking about?

I know you're not talking to me. I better see you in Jersey this fall.

thanks for the shout out-your opinion of me matters almost as much as what color toilet paper to use when i think of you

btw-if it wasnt for locals the dome would be empty- we support su because we love syracuse

Kaiser you and I both know that not all SU locals are like that. I am a quasi Alumni myself and I go to every game and didnt complain once about the moves to Fri night even though I wasnt overly thrilled. You need to remember that the local fan base has all types but they are still the lifeblood for SU the NYC alumni is not nor will they ever be.

so we didnt have a 5 game skid to end the season?

2 years ago is just that 2 years ago

the 5 home games piss's me of but not as much as marrone ignoring the offense this off season-

3 years of pathetic games and he does nothing -

thats the main reason i dont want to renew my tickets- im done watching other teams move the ball into the endzone while our offense makes the 3 stooges look like brown little and czonka

This is pretty much with the board divide comes down to. Exceptions to the rule but pretty much the way it is around here.

Again im talking about OOC road games why the hell are you talking about Lville adn WVU? Go show me the last time SU beat a good team OOC on the road and when you find the year starts with 19 you will now why most arent thinking this will be a win.

I know you're not talking to me. I better see you in Jersey this fall.

I said 90% not everyone Im sure there are some like you who go to a lot of home games but I go to all of them to plus travel to road games its part of loving this team and wanting to see those W's.

I'm just not afraid to play the game. You clearly are. The alternative to Mizzou was what? A 2nd meaningless FCS. Our program was built on playing other BCS schools. I have absolutely no problems playing 9 BCS schools this year. You might not be cut out for the future schedules if you can't handle 9 BCS games because that will be the norm in the ACC.

So a conference road win at WVU is somehow not as good as a road win @ Mizzou, because they are OOC? Who cares if the road win was against a conference foe or OOC. You aren't making any sense.

Ugh, your not following me. I am not talking about road wins in general I am talking about OOC road games there is a huge difference. An OOC road win agaisnt a top 25 Sec Team is light years better then a win at WVU when we are conference foes. Conference teams beat each other all the time.

Says who? Good lord you love to move goalposts. And if you want OOC road wins, we've already discussed it. NOTRE DAME.

You get the last shot in --- i can't take any more whining today.

I dont play so I am not afraid of who they schedule and again the other choice wasnt a 1AA. We had months to work out another deal with a D1A program, MTSU, Hawaii, North Texas, etc etc etc. Also I have no problem playing 9BCS games a year but when your in a rebuild mode (again) and desperately need a bowl game for your program and maybe your coaches life if you cant see that then I dont know what to tell you.

I said OOC road games and you bring in two examples of Conf road games both of which we won by the skin of our teeth. How would Marrone not be familiar with them we have been playing them 20 + years in a row my grandmother is familiar with them at this point.

How often do we play a Top 25 team OOC on the road? Very rarely. And I wouldn't count a 2nd year HC as being familiar with his own team let alone an opponent. What the does it matter if the fanbase is familiar with the team? Also wouldn't beating a BE team on the road be harder since they know us as well? When was the last time SU BBall won a road game against a Top 25 team? the 90s? Same dumb argument.

No one is moving goal posts you keep brining up all this other for some reason. If you honestly think that beating WVU on the road means more then winning at a top 25 OOC team on the road then your seriously lost.

Why do we need to travel to mid-majors in general? I mean it's frigging WYOMING. High altitude, no fans, no recruits, no nothing.
Texas did.

Not sure I get your point, so your saying what a HC shouldnt be familiar with his own team by year 2? Jesus Christ are you serious? SU bball beat UNC on the road when they were a top 10 team a few years ago nice try though.

Please show me the Top 25 OOC game. I don't see it. I bet Mizzou is 5-5 when we play them.

su is in desperate need for a winning season-that we can all agree

more than 5 home games would have helped that happen-that we can all agree on also

a road game at a smaller program non 1aa would have been preferred-that most will agree with

usc at the dome would have been better for the fans (locals) who actually pay the bills- some may agree
