Class of 2020 WR Bryce Gowdy (FL) Verbal to Ga Tech

After the Robert Washington debacle, all of my expectations have been tempered. I'll never get as hyped about a potential recruit after that.
This guy says hi.

Michael Vick will forever (hopefully) be the poster child for this type of result. As disappointing as it gets from a recruiting standpoint (we weren’t aware of his dogfighting issues back in 1998 either). Seeing him in 1999 versus our 2-headed QB clown show will forever be a low point for our program.

Ya, that was brutal. The Hodge debacle is probably the straw that broke the camels back for me. After that I took every recruiting battle with a grain of salt. Even if we won I was worried they wouldn’t qualify, produce or get kicked out of school. Life is to short. We go to battle with the guys we got, just like my platoon sergeant said. I root for those guys and no one else.

Regardless of what you think, WVU was trying to get him on campus for their big weekend event after the dead period, which he didn't attend. They were firmly in the mix, and once he turned that down, it became a GT/SU race. So you can say "no one" but that's patently false.
You can spin things anyway you want. But that doesn't change the one thing that is not in dispute. You ruin everything.

Losing Hodge made room for Warrick and I think we’re all happy how that turned out. Just interesting in hindsight.

That was the last basketball recruit I devoted too much time and interest in. Recruiting kills you as a fan when you care too much. I don’t care as much these days, Atleast not where it impacts your sanity.

As I recall [and I might have the timing a bit off, now that this was [unbelievably] 20 years in the rear view mirror, but I think we had the Hodge decision, and the 69-0 beatdown at VT orchestrated by Michael Vick happen withing a couple of weeks of each other.

Very low point for me as an SU fan.

They were a year apart. I just remember this because 0-62 was my freshman year and Julius Hodge was my Sophmore year.

BTW never had a great feeling about Hodge coming here.

He and Billy Edelin were very tight at the camps.

It is incredibly baffling to me that these stud WRs don’t want to come here. Absurd number of targets, a coach who is never satisfied with anyone’s version of fast, a stud QB throwing darts on the money and you get to play in a Dome for 1/2 the games.

Then again, they’re 17-18 year old kids being pulled in every which direction in person and on social media...

LETS GO!

question from an old man who listens to music via 8 track:

are you able to watch a live stream on Instagram if you don't have an account? I need to watch this Gowdy thang live, I can't be tortured following it on here.

With the exception of a few Crystal Balls, it’s impressive how close to the vest this kid has kept it. Not ideal for my blood pressure though

Most cyborgs aren't built with beer guts

Nope...you have to work for that ish. People these days want everything handed to them...good grief.

So... is the announcement happening basically now?

Theres a radio stream available that is covering it live. Just google Gtech bryce gowdy tony sands show
