WR Coach Terrence Samuel leaving for Kansas

Queeley was one of my biggest disappointments of the starting offense players this year. I don't think he necessarily regressed but he certainly was far from taking the next step. I hate to think he's hit his ceiling but maybe he has.
That's how I feel about Anthony but you expressed much better.

Clearing way for the new OC to bring some of his own guys with TE/WR coaches now gone?
This was my thought. The new OC may not necessarily bring assistants with him, but he should at least be afforded the opportunity to choose his own staff.

I think he regressed. His 2020 was a solid year for a young player. But for an upperclassman it was nothing to notice. The fact that his 2021 numbers are half 2020 is pretty bad. He was never open and when he did get open he dropped the pass. The guy is a 5th year SR next year, I don't think we get anything more than we have seen up to this point. The was a reason why his PT went down as the year went on.

We talk about the “it” factor in regards to the QB situation often. But, with WR I think it’s pretty similar. You either have the mindset that I’m getting open and even if I’m not I’m catch the damn ball, or you don’t. He just seems to shy away a bit. Think of how different Steve Ishmael was here. He constantly was battling for balls and had no problem sticking his nose out. It’s so important for an outside WR to have that drive to snatch the ball, not let the ball come to you.

We need some alphas in the WR room.

Taj was one, but he was an alpha that didn't raise others up to be alphas

agreed. I believe this is what Dino meant when he was saying Alford doesn't know what he's capable of. Alford has 'alpha' potential but he needs to understand that and go be a boss man. He plays like a scared freshman and not an alpha. Alford does need to hit the weight room hard this offseason though. Queeley seems to want to be an alpha but is limited. Courtney is getting it and I believe Pena has an alpha mindset. He should be that much better next year if the injury heals.

We clearly need some of our bigger wr's Gadsen, Long and hopefully JaVonte to grow up and be alpha's. Would really like to know what kept JaVonte on the sidelines injured all season after being in a lot of clips over August. He looked fine but wasn't even dressing.

I was really looking forward to seeing what Ja Vontae W. was capable of, had a great high school video and was pretty heavily recruited. Hopefully whatever held him back is resolved for spring practice.

Phillips, AET, Ishmael, and still remember Estime coming back towards the line of scrimmage, When Eric was scrambling near the end zone. Eric shoveled the ball to him and Estime went 80+ yards for the score.
All those receivers worked to get open, and knew Eric would find them.
They all won most of the jump balls.
