Class of 2014 WR Jamal Custis (PA) Offered

Beyond critical we land at least 2 of those three, and by land I mean actually signing here and making it to campus. The WR core needs a complete overhaul.

Also need to hold onto Cooper. We need playmakers on the outside in the worst way no matter who the QB is. Any kind of dynamic WR core to go with Morris as the RB and watch out play makers all over the place.

While I agree, i am curious how many of those guys would be able to be immediate contributors for us? That's what we need more than anything, all of these guys will be players but it might be a year or two after they reach campus they contribute for us big time.

I would assume KJ and Ishmael can contribute immediately, but it would be exciting to see it play out.

Here is what I think about playing time. They can't be much worse than what I saw out there yesterday. That was a terrible display of WR talent.

True, but all of those guys out there yesterday will now have an additional year of experience at the college level and in McDonalds system than these guys will have as incoming freshman.

WR is a position where true freshmen can have a big impact at this point we needs to infuse the position with some upper echelon/elite speed and or play making ability. Those three each appear to have at least one of those aspects and thats not counting Cooper if he makes it here. Right now we have way to many possession WR's, and to many receivers who are in the same mold. The one guy we have who should be that upper echelon guy, Funderburk can't somehow get on the field over Flemming, Kobena, and Clark, that's not exactly a murderers row.

I think the WRs are getting way too much criticism. They caught almost everything and prevented at least 2 int's.

They are not dynamic enough for a successful top end D1 program. They are a nice bunch of players. They don't get separation on a regular basis. They are not great route runners. They need to be recruited over ASAP if we want to be have a serious football team and football program. Those guys that played yesterday will not cut it.

I think they'd be okay with the right QB. I'm not saying they're superstars, but they're competent D-1 receivers. And Broyld, who is basically playing WR, has some serious potential

Just think Martine thought they were good enough that he didn't even recruit a WR last cycle. Kind of strange

they also didnt get very much separation

Agreed-They're not superstars, but if everyone else does their job (including the OC and QB), they'll be good enough.

These recruits involved in the passing game are like sharks smelling blood in the water, they can sense playing time baby!:)

Damn, I was really hoping we'd land him. This freaking University of Syracuse is always stealing our recruits.
Hell, maybe we should just change it back...

that's one way of looking at it.

If we land Steve Ishmael, this HAS to be our best crop of wide receivers in a long time, right?
