Class of 2019 WR Trejan Bridges (TX) Portal from Cent Arkansas / Visiting

I will not root for him on the field if he comes here. Just as I do not root for Aroldis Chapman with the Red Sox.

You do not have to compromise your morals to support a sports team.

Miss me with the "pearl clutching" and look inwards.

Did I miss something? Is this the guy that was caught with weed and a key fob?

Dead serious question.

This is the guy that did a home invasion.

The incident with Bridges is far worse than I thought. Here’s an excerpt from the April 20 2021 incident and Bridges involvement.

The warrant state Bridges — wearing a blue surgical face mask — pointed a handgun at the victim. The victim then pulled McGowan to the ground, and Bridges hit the victim on the head with the gun and kicked him multiple times. Bridges then allegedly threatened to shoot and kill him.

But some of us are "pearl clutching"...

Here is the mystery behind this case I have yet to see what the outcome was … a not guilty plea was entered based on what I read. So typically when you fight the charges you end up in jail yet he did not. Does anyone know the actual outcome?

I wrote most of that previously. Some posters thought it was funny and/or it was okay because the person was a drug dealer.

Initial plea was not guilty then peaded guilty to a lesser charge.

"Bridges agreed to a plea admitting guilt to an amended felony count of larceny of a person at night, rather than robbery, while the other counts against he and McGowan were dismissed, "

We see this every day. And are stunned when a person kills someone and we hear about the other stuff that they were allowed to plead down before.

The news reports say that that Bridges and McGowan (another OU fottball player) and 1 other wore masks and robbed and asaulted a man in a home invasion and Bridges had a gun. Apparently McGowan had tried to buy pot from the guy earlier in the day but he wouldn't sell to him.
Bridges later pled guilty to larceny, a non-violent felony, and received probation.

As a former prosecutor, I find that you can tell alot about the case by the plea. First, he pled to a non-violent felony. That tells me that the victim probably had credibility issues and may have had his own criminal record (that would come out at trial when he testified.) Also they probably didn't recover the gun so the only evidence would be the victim's testimony therefore the armed robbery charge probably would have been difficult to prove. Further, since he received probation so it's unlikely he had any other arrests.
Bottom line it's felony (and even our president is a convicted felon) so its serious, but I would give a lot of deference to Fran who can speak to his coaches etc to see if he's a problem or worth giving him the benefit of doubt. Other players with sketchy charges e.g. Alton Robinson, have worked out well.

That was me and I never insinuated anything funny about it or that it was ok. It was a serious offense however, I thought the details of the case told a pretty clear story. My opinion was the same as a former prosecutor on this board. The victim had his own issues...
Thats why they were given amazing plea deals, it is an easy story to understand.
It is a concern but it is potentially being blown out of proportion just a little. I have stated my case why I think that.
I don't wanna write too much and take you back in time.
Ill trust the people in charge that know alot more than any of us and I won't throw out ignorant absolute statements and make jokes about it.

Fair enough. I was in the moment and took it the wrong way. Thanks for the clarification.

"Trejan is a leader and one not afraid to get his hands dirty, in order to get the job done. He's confident, he knows what he wants, and is unrelenting in his pursuit. He's a bit unorthodox in his approach but his commitment to completing a task, undeniable."

By my count, there are 12 WR’s on the roster now, plus a bunch of RBs and TE’s who can catch.
If the post above is about Bridges, adding a 13th WR seems seems like too much.
Then again, Fran isn’t returning any of my messages.
