Wrecked by Tech Postgame Thoughts

I still just don’t understand how you don’t give villari the keys. The kid is a player. The one pass they let him throw was put with perfect touch. I don’t understand how they didn’t actually let him throw another real pass to keep the d honest.

Kansas almost beat KSU, a top 25 team, with their 3rd string QB and beat Oklahoma with their backup. No excuse to have terrible QB depth every freaking year. Enough of this

I'm not going to lose sleep, which I am about to cash in on, over the 3rd string QB. Having no one after OG (and IJ who is always hurt) and not having QB2 win the BC game are far more damning.

Not as easy as we think considering we currently have three 4 star SEC portal QB’s yet here we are
Get a G5 starter, it isn’t easy but get a guy who has been a successful starter

Shrader is hurt. The other 2 never threw a ball in competition.

We need to get a portal QB that has proven he can play at this level of competition. I don’t care if he’s a former 5 star or 1 star. HS accolades don’t mean anything when you’re onto your second program after dying on a depth chart at your first.

I get the 3rd but not the 2nd, that has killed us almost every year

We have one chance left to bowl.

You can’t, IMO, run the same plays over and over and over.

Run, run, run, do you think the defense knows what you’re going to do?

Everyone keys on Allen and Villari.

Allen off tackle, Villari pass to Allen in the flat, Villari up the middle.

I do not know what Shrader’s problem is but we will surely need him next week.

I actually saw Villari throw a pass over ten yards to the right sideline. If they'd let him he could make a difference running and throwing.

Beck must be saddled with no one who can throw the ball.

I bet Villari can throw the ball a lot father if they let him.

We’re trying our best but this is sad.

Unfortunately one of our top 3 QB’s left in the spring. Lamson made a bad football decision to leave. Good education decision but bad football decision. I think had he stayed he would have played a lot the second half of the year and done fairly well. He’d be solid in this offense. And he’d be our starter in 2024. Who knows what could have been.

That forward pass down the sideline needs to be run 3-4 times per half, and ideally there would be two or three versions of it, one being a fly. That would open up the quick hitters behind the line a bit, and force at least one safety to stay at least somewhat deep. That gives the entire Wildcat/Veer/Gimmick a chance to function well enough.

If I recall correctly, we hit some big runs after that completion.

Hopefully these coaches can figure that out and get a win, and hopefully it's Dino's last game.

Villari set a school for single-game completion percentage with his 14-14 night passing
Doesn't that tie Shrader's perfect game?

But Shrader had more completions.

And yards.

Obviously.

I really wonder about Beck & Dino’s QB evaluation these days since they missed so badly with CDRW and Davis.

Tidbit from Dino's presser: MacFail knew the two minute offense better than Villari or Davis.

I hope the QB Portal has a 2 for 1 sale. We're gonna need a lot more of them.
This is the worst excuse I've ever heard. We have two weeks experience for running a triple option. How can McPhail POSSIBLY KNOW the 2 minute offense accounting for the current reality better than anybody else.

Why in the world did we feature Allen more than Villari in the Wildcat? Villari is a beast. He is at least a mild threat to throw the ball. I don’t get it. Why did Shrader not run the ball at all? He did last week? Did he suffer another injury against Pitt?
