ALBANY, N.Y. -- Syracuse goes for its first win of the season when it takes on Albany on Friday, Aug. 28 in the state capital. The Orange posted a tie and a loss to No. 24 Penn State during the opening weekend of the season.

MORANZ MAKES COLLEGIATE DEBUT
Sophomore MacKenzie Moranz (Lowville, N.Y.) posted a shutout in her first collegiate action against Missouri in the opening game of the Penn State Invitational. She posted five saves against the Tigers in a 0-0 double-overtime tie. Against the Nittany Lions, Moranz made seven saves. She is tied first in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in saves (12) and saves per game (6.00).
SCOUTING ALBANY
Albany finished the 2013 season with an overall record of 2-14-1 and a 1-6-1 record in America East play. The team returns its three leading scorers this season. The Great Danes opened the 2014 campaign with a 2-0 loss to Saint Mary's.
THE SERIES
Syracuse leads the all-time series with Albany, 5-0-1. Last season the Orange defeated the Great Danes, 4-0, at the SU Soccer Stadium.
