He had to be 6th on the depth chart with some highly rated freshman recently signed. Makes sense.

There are a lot of reasons why guys can enter the portal. Unless you have inside information, it can be for more NIL, more playing time, perceived higher profile program, closer to home, grades, disciplinary, medical DQ, and so on.
