X's & O's (Football 101)

How ACIII got so open on the drop in the end zone. The play where hunt was injured. A couple of the running plays, including fredericks play where he ran over a couple of guys just before plunging into the endzone. A couple of GMII off tackle runs

- those were some of the more notable scheme plays that stood out to me

AC was not open on that play. he had a DB inside him where the route was supposed to go. Dungey thru it 5 yds behind him and AC spun around picked up the ball and almost caught it. anyone sitting in the endzone could see how much he changed direction just to get to it. he got it hands on it but im not sure he really saw it all that well or was close to being set. i thought it was a poor decision to even throw it

I have a question about AC's drop in the end zone. I was on that side in the 300's and it looked like Dungey threw away from coverage and AC's route took him right into the coverage. Is that a play where AC and the QB read the coverage and adjust on the fly or is it a designed route where AC breaks to the left?

In terms of what we like, I like screens, and crossing patterns. And for the running game misdirection.

As discussed earlier, let's continue to break down what went wrong on that Hill 360 spin move play...

You called that earlier. Design run to the right and the right tackle got blown up. The left end crashing down had nothing to do with the play.

I watched that play a few times, and the # font is driving me crazy. I could swear when the lineman who was beat gets up it's 89. But Parris wouldn't be lined up at right tackle. I don't think it was Lasker, just by the build, but I could be wrong.

I hope we don't see that play again. With the speed of Erv and Strickland at XB, I do not want to see BL running the ball.

As a receiver, I'm all in on him, but as a runner, not so much.
So...

Move him back to WR?

Let's go with the I-right 32 dive. On second thought looking at my pic lets go with the 999 all go.

Unless he's running down hill...not sure Ben is the best option for jet sweeps.

I don't know about that. If he hits the receiver in the hands and threw it where only our guy could catch it - how is that bad?

That play was hopeless. One of the few plays that RI defensed well. Not sure it would have worked with even Erv running it.

I don't think so - he is a pretty decent blocker where he is and I like him as a good check down option from the wing. We have enough guys to run the jet sweep.

I thought the same thing at the time. Erv's rushing yards were very similar to Lewis'.

I am not sure the jet sweep has worked more than 2-3 times in the last 5 years for us. can we pick a team that runs the ball and call it something else. how about the packer sweep.
