This program needs to decide what it wants to be moving forward.

Do we want to be the type of program that sees the value of a THUNDERDUNK.

Or do we hate the THUNDERDUNK.

If it's the former, we need more McLeod!

The talent discrepancy on the floor tonight…ooof. The Cards decided they were going to take JJ out of the game and they did. Once that happened we couldn’t get good shots. Watching the game really up close today, there was no way we were beating them.

Thought Louisville was well coached and had kids really playing hard.

The effort from our guys is really troubling. Lots of half assed hustle moments.

See I disagree with that, we missed a ton of open shots. I suppose that speaks to the talent discrepancy you laid out though

It’s truly amazing that a random forward for Louisville can dribble straight down the lane of 5 Cuse guys and thunder dunk with 2 hands without being even remotely defended. Red should have pulled that 5 and never put them back in

That is the problem with the roll the ball out and let them play style that JB used and what Red uses. When they take away the player you rely on to generate all the offense you have no offensive system to fall back on. We have no defensive system to fall back on.

Our players look totally confused on both ends of the floor. One time down the court there will be good spacing the next time down 3 players will stand within 5 feet of each other and just watch. Sometimes they try to play defense then other times they don't.

It feels like they just play random basketball. What did we try to do on defense? UL clearly had a game plan to take away JJ what was our game plan? What did we try to take away?

This roster is really low mid major. It’s hard to decifer if the talent is really poor or this staff just can’t coach. It’s probably a combination of the two. Basic defensive principles are lacking and our bigs don’t screen bodies. They just stand there and expect people to get open. Petar is the only player that screens using his body. There’s no “stick to itness” to this team. If something works, they will ignore for several trips down the court. The lack of playing physical by our guards is stunning. They just allow guards to back them down and basically lay the ball in.

oh its definitely coachng...who picked the players??!?!

on defense...its lack of ability and lack of coaching and coaching ability

on offense, its coaching...there's plenty of scoring and scorers on this roster...but theres no scheme

It’s YMCA ball. 1-2 guys that can dribble effectively enough, a fat guy down low unable to move and the others hanging around the perimeter, stationary, hoping the ball finds its way to them for a contested 3.

The biggest issue I have is this board. We blame the players. Bell just stands there. Freeman just stands there get down low. Etc etc etc clearly they are coached to do that.

Jim was able to get by with superior talent most of his career. Add in the Zone and you have huge success.
The 3 was the beginning of the end for Zone Ds. Take away the talent and Jims style doesn't work in today's game.

It's a cliche but the team plays like they've checked out on Red and the season. They'll try hard in games they might sneak out, but I don't see us having the grit to beat anyone good.
Change has to happen, in effort alone.
We have a team made up of a bunch of mediocre transfer seniors and grad students that realize they’re not going anywhere this year so they’re just mailing it in.

Red literally built the worst roster in the past 60 years of SU basketball. It’s apparent he has zero idea on how to build a roster. Completely clueless.

Jim largely held players asses to the fire. Careless mistakes, lack of effort, poor decisions etc would find your butt meeting the bench. this crew can watch guys like cuff and starling have horrid nights and continue to play like nothing has happened. Accountability. It’s enough.

Choppa didn't deserve more minutes, but at least, maybe throw him a bone.

Louisville has more talent for sure but we are not well coached. Also, it was so noticeable how much more effort and hustle we play with on Def once we hit a couple shots...Once we miss a couple shots thats when the half assed hustle moments kick in.
They wanna win but only if it comes fairly easy.

When the broadcast started for me, the first play i saw was a Lvile guy ‘waltzing’ into the lane, and one or two of our closest defenders literally had their backs turned to him. Just bizarre. Every game we do something incredibly weird/bad that I’ve never seen before. I can’t imagine any of our transfers or frosh were this bad before they came to us. It’s as if they’re being coached to be bad. The other team’s players look soooo comfortable. They’re almost giddy at how easy it is to do whatever they want.

Bell has the worst attitude of any Syracuse player in recent memory.

Fwiw, I’d like to apologize to you in regards to your post that got you so much heat last year. Clearly you were seeing things others, myself included, were not.

I wonder how his attitude is behind the scenes?
1 bad attitude allowed to linger and infect can cause fatality.
He comes across as a spoiled brat...thats just my opinion from the outside looking in.
But, sometimes those within the problem can't see it...but those looking from a distance can see it clear as day.

NIL thing. Give him another year. Why not?
