Yikes, Derrick Coleman’s IG

That's BS! SU needs to change the meaning of hanging a jersey in the rafter! Essentially they say none of those numbers are "retired" and can be reissued. Retire the number, hang it in the rafter and that number is off limits. Why doesn't that make more sense than what we are currently doing? The retirement of a Jersey would then be reserved for some really special players!!!
Because eventually every team ends up like the Celtics and has dozens of numbers they can’t use. It’s silly.

I like hanging a players name and number as a way to honor them. And then you also still use the number as a way to preserve the tradition and legacy.

The whole history of 44 is (a) from football, and (b) due to SEVERAL players wearing it. If we retired it when Brown left there’d literally be no legend of 44. It’d just be a number one guy wore.

They are pros! He stinks. Let’s stop playing this game

They wanted to be paid and given our elite garment.

Time to flush it.
They don't just want to be paid. They want to take as much money as possible from regular fans. They want us to donate to collectives and pay them out our pockets. They want us to buy their tshirts and jerseys so they make money. That is fine! I'm happy to donate, but you're also exposing yourself to criticism when you're ripping us off.

This team humiliates the program but a number 1 overall NBA draft pick is the problem? Can't make this crap up.

Our AD are total clowns. Sean Tucker can't wear 44 bc Kondrad will be upset but Lampkin can.

You answered your own question.

The whole team was bad, but DC singled out ONE player because of a jersey number.

If Lamkin wore a different number, you wouldn't have heard a peep out of DC this season.

Did DC even bother to return to Syracuse for JB's retirement ceremony?

Konrad and Floyd littles wife go nuclear over a number but DC is the problem when the university sues him if he tries to open a bar or whatever and uses a 2 digit number?

I've seen him at a couple final four games the last decade he's a great ambassador probably reached his breaking point like some of us.

He is a child. Like some here
Our AD sued him for using 44 for whatever small business.

Shameful and pathetic.

Good to see he still cares Boston and DC sweet 16 he was front and center and we put down a few together awesome dude very loyal to the program. Fffffff the haters.

Guys DC has hit a rough patch. I’ll prefer to remember how he was the biggest cheerleader during some of our nationally televised games back when we were still competitive.
Bill Rafferty indirectly called him fat by saying "no church league for that guy" after a big shot that rainbowed in from mid range, there was Coleman in what had to be one of the largest suits and smiles I've ever seen. I couldn't stop laughing, was so much fun those days.

Is Danny Schayes pissed off? Wasn’t he the first basketball player to wear #44? Bet more fans should be and are more upset about the team’s play and record than worrying about a jersey # anyone wore. Wish he cared more about the program’s legacy than his personal jersey #’s legacy. Loved DC but sadly he’s the one ruining his own legacy.
No. Here’s a list:

I’m so old that I’ve met 10 of the list, including just turned 93 year old Mel Besdin!

Marty Byrnes was a heck of a player.I also remember Peter Wynne vaguely. Marty Byrnes used to live near me in Syracuse after his NBA career. Never remembered that he had #44.

You must not have been around then. He gagged at the foul line when he could have iced the game for us. Indiana wisely fouled him when they needed to foul at the end of the game. They knew who to foul.
Honestly, Triche missing the backend a bit before that and us playing an ole defense off the rebound and letting IU get within one with like 4 seconds ticking off the clock was to me the crucial sequence. If DC had made both it was not over, 3 point game. He is still a douche, don’t get me wrong there

We are shamefully bad the alumni hurting like this is actually a positive.

THis was a close game. If Lampkin played a little better we probably win. Good for DC calling him out.

DC is just trying to motivate Lampkin!

JFC.
Agree tough love.

And with the program in the toilet it's gonna be pissing on each other.

We really suck and there's people on here who think Red and Carlos need more time lol.

Yep.
No difference between what DC & Konrad have done here, except in their approach.
Its wild to me the masses are mad at D frigging C here.

I heard he ”motivated” the football team and Don MacPherson while he was at SU to a 34-12-1 record in his 4 years here too. :p

Not sure if you noticed but DC has been complaining about Lampkin before the team even had a practice.
And he was proven totally correct.

Notice he never crapped on John Wallace for taking his number.

Derrick and Carmelo honestly have to take the bull by the horns and get control of the program from Georgetown Kent before its too late.

You’ve made some all time dumb posts on here in the past but we have serious potential in this thread.

All I'm saying is, and forgive me if I'm belaboring this, is that there is no planet where Eddie Lampkin is a star or had the potential to be a star.

He played four full seasons at TCU and Colorado and showed the world exactly who he was. If our coaching staff or anyone on the board thought it was a good idea to throw a bag at him in the hopes he would go through some massive transformation in Year 5... well, I'm not taking investment advice from those folks.
Staff expecting him when leaving the Colorado altitude his body deflats and he runs faster and any back issues will be neutralized by dry back rubs.

True. He definitely never said anything about Wallace on Instagram between 1992-1996.
