Yikes

Another fun fact related to the previous post. Who do y'all think is the only other player in the entire conference that has a worse FG% than Buddy that plays over 30 mpg?

So how do you explain why his percentages so low this season?

Forcing some shots, a lack of practice time and game time due to Covid, normal statistical regression. All are likely contributing factors. Always hard to nail down why players slump, but players often do have slumps.

If we were a top 10ish team then yes that is what he should probably be.

Instead BUDDY BOEHEIM literally leads the ACC in field goal attempts per game and exactly ZERO of the top 30 scorers in the league have a worse FG%.

ZEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. That seems like a problematic combination of statistics, but hey JB has forgot more than I'll ever know.

We’re not a top 10-ish team. If we had Eli come back, Kadary play 35 minutes, and found spare knees for Sidibe we’d be a solid 6 seed.

Folks, it’s really not that hard.
It’s not about whether Buddy should shoot or should play.
It’s about how much should Buddy shoot, and how much should Buddy play.
JB seems to believe we can’t win without him on the floor at all times. I’d venture that most people disagree w/ that POV based on eye-test alone, never mind the lousy numbers. That’s the real issue here.

Indeed

Fun note on that. Per RPI, our two best WINS were Va Tech and Northestern.

Buddy was 1-12 vs Northeastern
Buddy was 3-13 vs Virginia Tech

the idea we need him to win just doesn’t follow the numbers.

There are some really good players at these YMCA games. I remember years ago we had a guy who played at Iowa st with fizer. Kid had game.

Both games were easy wins. So this also shows that the idea he’s costing us wins doesn’t follow the numbers (these numbers, at least)

And this is the problem. Everyone can see it AND the numbers make it clear as day. The majority of the board has seen it for months even people who have never complained or went against a JB decision ever before. Now we have announcers during the game saying the exact same things. Jake really hit the nail on the head that JB is lucky there are no fans at games this year because he would be dealing with something that I don't think he's equipped to deal with at this point. He has always refused to be criticized but nowadays he doesn't even have any rebuttals that people can take seriously. Only good thing is that Buddy and Joe are only being criticized by a bunch of us bums on a message board and not being booed by 20k+ when they play 35 mins and go 2-12 while Kadary gets 12 mins.

Anybody who would boo our players is a next level scumbag.

Don't think I've ever seen it but I think it would have been in play this season if things went exactly as they have but with full crowds.

Scumbag might be too stong, but I agree in principle, especially where "anybody" = self proclaimed fan of the program. I think the OP is suggesting that it is JB's decision making that will be booed or, more appropriately, cheering when KR is sent in.

Northeastern was an easy win?

It was still a one possession game with a couple minutes left.

I’ll admit it was closer than I remember it being. That said, I don’t recall being worried we were going to lose. That also might’ve been a game I couldn’t watch because it was carried by a RSN.

I’ve only seen it with perceived lack of effort. The massacre by St. John’s comes to mind. I don’t think any of the players on this team would have been deserving of it at any point.

Thats the point.

Well, out of all Syracuse players that played 20 MPG in a season, only Kaleb Joseph, Frank Howard, Chris McCullough (and a couple starting guards this season) have had Offensive Ratings under 100.

Yeah, i once played against this kid, think his name was Lamar Mundane, who had the sickest jumper I’ve ever seen. It was like he was shooting layups...from 35 ft! Awesome!

I will never understand how Griffin does not play some SG - let me guess - his handle isn't good enough? like Buddy is Kyrie

Put Buddy and Joe on the court for 35 mins against a team that has an athlete like Zion Williamson - they must have been paranoid all game

Why would fans boo Buddy and Girard? Even if you believe they are two worst players in the conference, as many here clearly do, it isn’t their decision how many minutes they play.

Seton Hall 2011. Scoop was sooo bad we had rumors after the game he was shaving points. I believe we lost by 30.
