I don’t deny he’s streaky. How many of those 40% shooters have low volume (less than 5 or so attempts) and/or play for midmajors?

Buddy on a midmajor is a 40% shooter and nobody would be able to change my mind about that.

Anyway, it’s semantic. If he’s not elite, he’s still very good.

Buddy has shot 35% from 3PT for his college career so far, that's not bad but it's definitely not an elite shooting number.

I went back 20 years and the only starter that was close was Freshman Kaleb Joseph who avg 5.9pts on 5.8 FGA. Excellent company but thankfully Buddy is an excellent defender and does a lot of the little things that win basketball games...oh wait.

He is worse this year from last year and has gone from 35.6 MPG to 36.1 MPG.

I mean what does JB see that nobody else does.
Stuff like this is why I lose it for the future. Buddy has 2 more years of eligibility left.

He was forced into bad shots last year and made them. There’s nuance to this. Should he shoot 16 times a game and play 40 minutes? No. Should he be a bench guy who plays 20 minutes and puts up 5 or 6 shots? No.

The YMCA comment was about playing style, not ability.

The argument is his ability as a shooter. The Covid stops and starts haven’t made him forget how to shoot. His skill hasn’t been affected. His percentage is down, the way talented home run hitters tend to slump after the all-star break.

Face guard him.
He is drawing more attention.

Which is why it is ridiculous our 4th best player is the primary feature of our offense.

Instead BUDDY BOEHEIM literally leads the ACC in field goal attempts per game and exactly ZERO of the top 30 scorers in the league have a worse FG%.
