Make Rowan put it on the floor and he's not nearly as effective. Howard has to keep the ball in front of him with 4 seconds left in the half. His effort on defense was pitiful. Did his teammates forget what number White is? He was ignored in the last 10 minutes of the half and Lydon has to be more aggressive. Our offense was good, but on defense we're giving up way too many wide open threes. All they do is overload and we lose Rowan. Lydon and White have to communicate when Rowan goes throug. Gillon has also fallen asleep on defense.
I also think offensively Battle has to attack Rowan, make him guard and hopefully commit some fouls. If NC STate continues to insist on switching screens, we have to feed Lydon.

Whats funny is Rowan was 0 for 3. Then hit his first one to go 1 for 4 and annoucers said he nailed another one... even tho it was his first. Then he got it going

LOL both teams shooting better than 50% overall and from the 3pt line... no surprise when 80% of them are open.

Was a weird half. We made DSJ a playmaker not a scorer. I think State will get him going, unfortunately. So will Rowan cool off, hopefully?

Rowan has been OPEN - when we've gotten a hand in his face he's missing.
You would think our defense would be aware of where Rowan is after the 5th trey. But so far no.

He does one thing well -- shoots 3-pointers. If you get in his face, just like with Gillon, he is helpless, although Gillon can put the ball on the floor.

Not accurate. Rowan is a good player.

I think the defense is playing well. It's just that Rowan is making baskets. If this were M2M and Rowan scored 18 points what would you say?

Battle needs to play a tick better. Lydon needs to have a big second half. Roberson needs to make rebounds.

Battle needs to play better but he got no roll that half. Very tight rim for him. I agree with everything you wrote.

SU can't expect Gillon to go off again in the second half so someone has to pick up the scoring. Lydon needs to step it up at both ends and we have to keep looking for White. Battle has to attack and not just settle for jumpers. WE have a chance for a road win. We have to take advantage of it. At some point, Smith is going to get aggressive and we have to keep him out of the paint.

Anytime DSJ has the ball in his hands it's trouble whether he finds someone for an open look or scores. You can see that NC State doesn't have any other play makers except him.

If Rowan and Gillon cool off - it will be Lydon vs. DSJ in an attempt to outscore the other. At the end I think our D will tighten up - as long as we battle on the boards I think we'll be fine. We have more scoring options assuming DSJ or Rowan doesn't go bonkers in the 2nd half

Howard just allows Smith to blow right by him, leading to the foul. I'm now at the point where I question what exactly Howard will/ would bring positively next year. What, other than a practice body? It's said how far he's fallen since the early cupcakes schedule. He has no confidence or clue what he should be doing.

We get a tip out rebound and a new shot clock and he thinks he should shoot a 16 footer immediately. That sums up his lack of a clue about himself, his limitations and what is a good play versus what is a bad one.

I think we discussed this... its the bad Cuse D but we are hot yet only up a few. It shouldn't be that hard to find Rowan. I already knew if we were in rhythm we'd squash their awful D but its close because we have the road D. :(

Not accurate. Rowan is a good player.
Your opinion. If I remember correctly last year he stunk up the joint against us. Almost twice as many turnovers to
assists for the season. Without Dennis Smith setting him up he wouldn't have close to 18 points.

I don't think the D was that bad. They had about 5 or 6 stops that I thought were pretty good.

The offense just needs to play a tick better. I think we have a pretty good chance to win this. The offense can't go without scoring 4 trips in a row like they did to end the first half.
That's what is so scary. We shoot over 50% from the floor and from 3 and we're only up by 3.

Besides a few Rowan open looks it hasn't been awful. you have to give DSJ credit - he is really, really good. He makes the right pass 95% of the time.

He is a 41%, just as lethal as White.

Right, so he had a bad game against us last year, thus Rowan is an awful player. Give me a break. Awful post.

On the road you have to keep scoring. I don't think we can stop them from scoring. If Smith puts his mind to it, he can start causing us all kinds of problems. We have to put up at least another 40 in the second half and that may not be enough.
