Saw Tom Petty live at the Knickerbocker Arena, Albany, back in the college days. Jethro Tull opened for him. Great performer.
Saw him in Binghamton, also back in the day (same tour?). Breakdown was great. Went on forever, and in the middle he morphed into Hit the Road, Jack and it fit perfectly. I still remember that.

It was also the first concert I ever went to where they served mixed drinks in addition to beer. I still remember that, too. :)

See, I would have forgotten the drinks ;)
I remember him being interactive with the crowd, especially breakdown. When he wanted us to sing, it gave me shivers, how loud and into it the crowd was. Unbelievable.
 
He was channeling Art Garfunkel
I was thinking the same.
