Your starting to see Fran and his assistants get exposed for a lack

I am all for Nixon and his system. Having a system works well in college this is what we do and this is how we do it. Most teams have this. It worked well last year and worked well to start the season but but but if you have no pivot no other wrinkles and nothing to fall back on because that same system, then you better make sure you get the correct type of QBs in here to run that system and you better have all those QBs so familiar with the system that they can run it at anytime.

It has been 5-6 weeks since the injury, to not have one QB on the roster ready to step in and run the system correctly is the alarming part. You have to be able to teach and practice enough to have the QB run the system properly.

When you are a my system or bust OC then you can't miss on QBs ever. You have to recruit the correct type of QB every year.

If the system were that great you shouldn't need a Top QB to run it. Why don't we have a 2016 like Pitt game to show? Instead we have struggled to get 25 yards in the first half the last 2 games. That is historically bad.

Even when you have a very good QB, they will have a 2-3 off games every year. We had 3 last year.

Last year the best passing D that we played was a home game vs the 56th ranked team. With Angeli the best we played was 72nd (another home game). So we don't know if Nixon's system works vs decent pass Ds.

IMO we should be looking to have an O like our 2012 O. We should be closer to 55% pass instead of well over 60% pass like last season. And when we do run we can't have our RB getting under 4.5 ypc.

Board vibes went from “Oh no I hope Penn St doesn’t take Fran away from us!” to “He’s worse than GRob!” so quick it’s crazy.
The offseason will be defining for Fran. He needs to be willing to make staffing changes, even if they are his friends. That's why he gets paid millions of dollars.

4-8 or whatever is going to happen seems clinical to predict in the summer, but hurts awful to experience. And we're getting blown out. Last year is over.

Frans 10 wins are from McCord, Pena, & LeQuint.

Frans 4 wins are from Frans 4 opponents.

Going back to Ricky was the single handed most deflating decision I've seen a coach make.

Not running out the clock to end the half.

Constantly being a doink to reporters.

He needs to get 9 next year to regain the mojo.
Fran is a rookie head coach and is making rookie mistakes, what did we expect? Those mistakes were hidden last year by really good QB play. Now his inexperience is on full display. I hope he grows into the job. Still a better than average recruiter, but that will not last long if his coaching does not improve. We need to see improvement next year, and a quantum leap by the following year or seriously consider a change.
Personnally I have never cared for Wildhack as AD, just lacks in athletics experience. Perhaps the job should be a business manager i.e. Wildhack, and a separate athletic kingpin/decision maker.

If you think about it, who is managing the clock last year? We all know Mccord was our quarterback and certainly could run essentially any and all drill yet who pulled the strings it was coach Fran Brown which honestly amazed me for a first year head coach. Not having a valid signal caller around him has affected him for sure as he overestimated a rookie quarterback and owned up to it. Multiple other things as well certainly with this handling. However if Brent Key, did not have their quarterback he would be called a moron for sure, look at Miami... So many other teams. Even in the SEC the product with current volatility NIL/ Transfer portal is affecting everything and everyone to a great degree, even the elite. However they will be able to compensate. I believe with our schedule next year and elite level recruiting In the portal with a healthy quarterback and viable backup we definitely can have a Georgia Tech like year, and who knows. We however have to be realistic and get behind this team. Changes should happen however I trust goodness, care and future empowerment should count for something And that is what I believe makes this coach a great recruiter as well as so many on the staff. He better compete in relation to coaching improvements on his own which is standard. Otherwise the wheels of this program will continue to spin. It is much easier to get behind a coach who cares who has a vision and an awareness concerning big picture, namely recruiting, northeast ties, player personal and professional development. Dino babers was a tremendously good and likable guy, He could not recruit here to a really good degree however remember what happened to Garrett Schrader last two years didn't we start out 5 and 0, what happened? We have work to do and as SUbear I have always appreciated your input and care.
