Zero made 3’s

Carlos simply does not threaten the defense. No one respects his ability to score. Because of this the wing defender never has to look at Carlos. Therefore their defensive rotations never have to change.

This is pretty obvious. None of our offensive players can get an offensive plus position because the PG absolutely sucks.
I said this all last year and offseason -- people here were so caught up in being upset about Judah they missed the fact that he was the only player defenses were afraid of. If you loved Bell's shooting last year, Judah was a big part in him getting those looks. JJ too. He didn't make as many but he was benefitting from his defender being a step or two closer to Judah at all times.

You don't want Judah or he wants to move on? It's all good but if you replace him with Carlos and JJ as the starting backcourt, you've got to find ways to keep bell involved and get him looks. His shooting just three 3's is an indictment on Red's offensive scheme.

The good news is, that particular issue is only like 4th or 5th on my list of gravest concerns with this group ...

Red did say in the presser yesterday that “this was as good as Carlos can play”.

Notre Dame looked atrocious. Difficult game to watch.
It was weird, no matter how close we were or even with the small leads, I never thought we had any sort of control of the game.

They did everything they could to hand us the game for 40 minutes and we still couldn't win.

It honestly felt like they were toying with us. Every time we got close, they ran a simple set for Shrewsbury, he got a good look and we were behind again. Every. Single. Time. It hurt to watch.

No doubt he has been less than underwhelming this year. But I don’t think yesterday’s game was a good time for this post. I thought he played a very good point yesterday. He had 7 assists that should have been 15. He consistently drove past his man into the lane and fed the ball to the open man who couldn’t finish. He also played his best defensive game this year. His shooting itself is abysmal but his teammates failed him yesterday. Sad as it might be, he is our best option at the point and I understand what Autry has to play him the minutes he does.

i find it sort of troubling that carmelo himself sort of said its up to Kiyan to retrurn the program to its rightful place. Because its not up to any one player not matter how great. that is just not fair or possible.
You shouldn't be sharing garbage like this fueling the fire with people already trying to burn it all down. Here's the exact quotes below. the very last part was I guess what you were triyng to spin. Melo just saying how good he thought his son was, Basically that he earned it and he's not some other NBA players kid being given a free ride.

Kiyan -
“Just looking at Syracuse and seeing, like, what could be done over there if I was to go over there,” Kiyan explained. “They already have top people coming in, who I’m close with. Young coaching staff that I can connect to. Close to home, a 45-minute flight. They would have me catching 6-hour flights to California. Just all of that, and then the ACC, they play Duke, Carolina. They play all the good schools. All of that plays a part as to why I chose Syracuse.”

Melo-
“It’s not easy following the blueprint when everyone else is going against the blueprint because they want you to be your own man. You’ve got a chance to put the school and the community and New York back to where it’s supposed to be,” he continued. Carmelo, 40, gave back to his community by establishing the Carmelo K. Anthony Basketball Center, a practice facility for men’s and women’s hoops teams.

“You the only one [that] can do it, you did it the right way, you went through the struggle, you went through every level of development as a player, as a young man,”

I haven't been able to keep up lately but this last game is the first time I have seen Davis. I don't know if he shoots 3's or not but I was impressed with his game.

The full thing makes it sound worse. He's going to put the community and the entire state of NY back where it's supposed to be? I'm I reading this right?

Are you serious ? “You’re the ONLY one can do it” . I’m sorry for taking someone’s own words at face value .

That’s scary if true . A team at the ND level having the ability to toy with us

Leave Bell in it for a moment, if he is just even of what he was last year we could have won 2 or 3 of the games we lost. I know you and seemingly everybody else on this board hates Adrian Autry but I’m actually one that blames players for poor play sometimes.
You have to be fair as well. We are not a well coached team. There is nothing that we do well. Or is there anything that seems to have a pattern or a reason for what we are doing. The portal guys are his guys. The pt guard miss was his. You can hang your hat on his frosh are good. And his upcoming class looks good. But everything else is a mess. He has to own that as well.

Yeah. I’m. Or saying that it is fact but just from watching it live, every time we made a mini run it felt like shrewsbury countered. I’m sure that’s largely because they go to their best player as things got tight, but I was kinda wondering why they didn’t just do it all game.

Starting to think last year's "selfish" team was just rolling with playground ISO ball because whatever they were being told to do made no sense... At least they were not bought in...

If they were supposed to be doing what we see this year, really can't blame them.
