I said this all last year and offseason -- people here were so caught up in being upset about Judah they missed the fact that he was the only player defenses were afraid of. If you loved Bell's shooting last year, Judah was a big part in him getting those looks. JJ too. He didn't make as many but he was benefitting from his defender being a step or two closer to Judah at all times.Carlos simply does not threaten the defense. No one respects his ability to score. Because of this the wing defender never has to look at Carlos. Therefore their defensive rotations never have to change.
This is pretty obvious. None of our offensive players can get an offensive plus position because the PG absolutely sucks.
You don't want Judah or he wants to move on? It's all good but if you replace him with Carlos and JJ as the starting backcourt, you've got to find ways to keep bell involved and get him looks. His shooting just three 3's is an indictment on Red's offensive scheme.
The good news is, that particular issue is only like 4th or 5th on my list of gravest concerns with this group ...
