If dino does leave, what does it really say about our chances of sustained success here

It says we hired a vagabond. I like Joe Moorhead OC at PSU. HC experience at Fordham, did really well there, scores points and knows the landscape. Not sexiest choice but we could do a hell of a lot worse.

It's not if with Dino just a question of when. He takes the staff with him and gets them sizable raises as well, I don't blame him. 9 out of 10 coaches would do same.

FWIW, frost has said he isn't a candidate for Oregon job.. maybe 1 year seems to quick for some

Does anyone else find it odd that they basically slashed season ticket prices in half and began allowing renewals weeks ago? Could there be concern that if Dino is gone, season ticket holders will cancel in mass numbers? So allow people to renew now, while Dino is here, at a massive discount.

No offense to anyone with "sources", but there isn't a P5 school out there who would hire a 4-8 football coach after one year. And this year, with very, very little movement on the coaching front, its even less likely. The CFB writers who have their finger on the pulse of the coaching carousel (i.e Dan Wolken), haven't so much as mentioned his name.

Dino may hate it here, and might bolt at the first sign of success, but he has no landing spot this year. Where exactly is he going? I have no doubt at all that he will be the football coach next fall.

I have no idea if he will leave or even be offered another job, but its 100% accurate that Syracuse has veen contacted by multiple schools about speaking with Babers

Auburn hired Chizik with a losing record. Bills hired Marrone with a .500 record. Stranger things have happened. Not saying it will and I tend to agree with you but stranger things have CERTAINLY happened out there. Babers has a pretty good body of work as well and a system that is desirable and one that isn't common place in college football. If he could go to a team with good talent, say UC Boulder or Oregon, you just never know

Sure, stranger things have happened and I have no idea if he's happy here (maybe not), but there just aren't enough landing spots this year unless things somehow go haywire. And there's been ZERO buzz from the CFB writers on Babers on any of the openings. Don't see it happening.

I didn't say we weren't contacted. AD's have to keep options open. But still would be very surprised if it happened.

I realize that I'm directing anger at the wrong people, but I really hate you guys. :)

There has been too much chatter from people on here who I know and respect, plus some PM's verifying information, for me not to believe Babers is unhappy and wants to move on. Ugh.

What is the longest period of time that Dino has spent at any coaching stop?

I don't have the PM info going on, but the rest of your post describes my thoughts as well.

this thread is the worst and I expect will be recurring year after year for as long as he stays. Imagine the paranoia when the team really starts rolling

Unfortunately that's pretty much where I'm at. Very frustrating. Makes me wonder if we ever will get back to where we all want to be.

Answer. Dino started at Hawaii stayed 4 years. Other than that he has one 3 year stint. Everything else is only 1 or 2 years. If history is an indication of the future he wont be here long unless the buyout handcuffs him. The only thing that might make his past not as relevant is that his previous moves were necessary to reach his current p5 position. That and a draconian buyout are all that wouid preclude him from continuing his pattern of moving to climb.

Thank you Chris Carlson!

You just started a thread asking what his buyout is, and then you post he has a draconian buyout?? W T H?

Who said he is unhappy? I've read A LOT of this, ahem, "stuff" as well and I read nothing but absolute speculation.

Babers MUST be unhappy, right? He was a hot commodity in coaching last year, turned down other jobs come here, now is coaching at measly old Syracuse and hates everything about it despite the number of times he has offered, unprompted by the way, how he looks forward to being here for a few years.

Of course he's gone! Of course he's gone! He just had his picture taken with Mike Tirico this week at an airport. Babers HATES Syracuse!

Syracuse is the worst! It offers NOTHING! It doesn't support the coach or football in any way. And I'm sure that Babers is SHOCKED that it gets cold and snows in Syracuse. We're all going down the toilet!

I can't wait for the meltdown after we have a 9-10 win season and win a good bowl about all the school's he will be leaving for Popcorn and soda
We have to get past this off season first without losing him.

Plenty of inside info on here if you read it, that he is unhappy is not speculation.

Wow, had his picture taken with Mike Tirico. How could I have overlooked that! No way Babers can leave, you're right!

Read the post again. I didnt state that he in fact has a huge buyout. I stated that if in fact one existed it could be a mitigating factor. Hence the post asking if anyone knew the actual terms.
