I'm really, really sorry to have to break this to you. But they actually beat Princeton that day, so they actually were #1. Why do I suddenly feel so dirty and in need of a shower?

11/6/1869: Rutgers 6, Princeton 4.

11/13/1869: Princeton 8, Rutgers 0.

Since Princeton ran up the score in that second game, they moved up in the polls.

All I can say is: I'm happy with who we got, and I'm happy as hell we didn't go after who they got.

Babers will give us a unique identity in northeastern football [and the ACC]. Let BC, Pitt, and Rutgers continue to play "dino" ball [pun intended] -- I like the direction we're headed, and how it will differentiate us from our geographic peers. A much needed, long overdue change.
