#1

Always? Nova is 11-8 against us with Wright as coach according to one article I found. So an advantage but hardly always.

A fairly large number of those wins by Syracuse were when Syracuse was highly ranked and heavily favored. A few of the losses as well.

This game matters big time. When Syracuse defeats Nova it will solidify the perception of Syracuse being a prohibitive favorite to be a one seed and will dismiss many doubts that some people still have about the team. If Syracuse were to lose it would become just one of the many teams vying for the top spots.

With next week's big matchup with Nova, if (not a big "if", but a larger than your average "if") SU wins, is there any way they don't get the #1 ranking?

Absolutely! .. as long as Arizona loses also.
