The 2012 FBS Private School Football Rankings for Week 12 are here.
(Note: the Legends Poll is late as usual... the FBS Private School Football Rankings will be updated once those results are in.)
Notre Dame falls into the nation's top spot thanks to losses by Oregon and KSU.
Three more private schools received votes this week, pushing the total to 9! The pollsters have spoken and the "best" 5-loss private school football team is... Baylor. Syracuse comes in 2nd after strong performances against Louisville and Missouri get the Orangemen 3 votes in the Harris Poll. These votes boost Syracuse to the 43rd spot in the overall BCS standings.
Syracuse is now ranked 9th in the private school rankings, 12 of which have records of .500 or better.
Meanwhile, BCU and Tulane continue to be tied (at 2-9) in their battle for the bottom
Of the 17 schools, 11 are now bowl eligible and 2 have been eliminated from the bowl chase. That leaves 4 that are still trying to qualify for a bowl. These six are: Wake Forest, SMU, Rice and Baylor. Baylor still has 2 chances to qualify (home vs. Texas Tech and Oklahoma State).
