For all the traditionalists out there:
Wearing an alternate uniform once every 2-3 years isn't exactly the same as wearing it 6 times a year.

Alsacs said:I would say to OrangePA's of the world who have a valid point, but one respectfully disagree with. That in today's world 2014 the inmates(players) are running the asylums and the kids want flash and shiny rather than tradition. I respect tradition and understand your mindset, but Syracuse isn't a selector school we get kids with talent, but not the elite of the elite and in today's world kids care about the uniforms and Syracuse uniforms have been among the most conservative of any schools in BCS conferences. 2013 we finally added a new alternate helmet, and blue pants. I respect tradition, but I think if Syracuse can get kids interested in their program due to the uniforms that can only help where we as fans care the most with wins and losses.
Maryland's recruiting has improved since they added Locksley and had the new uniforms. Getting talent to Maryland isn't the problem its coaching and developing that talent into cohesive teams and staying healthy. Darius Heyward-Bay, E.J. Henderson, Vernon Davis have all been high picks out of Maryland in the last decade.I have no problem with an alternate jersey or uniform once in a while. Just not every week.
Even the NFL restricts the number of times a team can wear alternates during the season.
And if alternate uniforms were the answer to everyone's problems, how come Maryland still sucks?
Listen your talking to a man that agrees with you 100% its been a tie between myself and Kaiser on making fun of the lack of Orange in our football jerseys. He called Syracuse the Illini and Illinois the Orange, and I have been hammering the need for more orange. I was just trying to make a statement to tradition people that I understand what they may like the old stuff, but we need more Orange in the football jerseys.1. It's not just the style, it's more so that the color Orange was removed this year. The color that is in our name, whether it be Orangemen or Orange.
2. Orange is what the school pushes and sells in their products.
3. Orange is what SU and others prefer fans wear to games. Would be ever have a "blue out"?
4. As to what recruits like, I'm willing to bet they have never been asked. Sure, they are shown something new and they say they are great. But I am sure options weren't laid out in front of them, one with mostly blue and one with more orange and then asked which do you like better.
5. While many of the top schools change their "look" on a one off basis, they still look like their school most times. In the Texas Bowl, you could not tell that was the Syracuse Orange(men). It was embarrassing.
I agree...this Boise State look is awful. Definitely need more orange.Listen your talking to a man that agrees with you 100% its been a tie between myself and Kaiser on making fun of the lack of Orange in our football jerseys. That would be me. We wore less Orange than Virginia, Miami, Clemson, Virginia FREAKING Tech, We have the 5th most Orange in the ACC and our nickname is the freaking Orange.I agree...this Boise State look is awful. Definitely need more orange.
Btw, aren't you the one that posted Syracuse has less orange in their uni's than 4 or 5 other ACC members? Just doesn't make any sense.
I actually didnt mind the blue Unis, was nice to see something a little different.
Says the guy who rags on anyone at the tailgate not wearing orange.
Very coy. You must be trying to obtain urine samples.A little birdie who claims to have close ties to the Syracuse football team says, “I’m being told 100% that there will be a complete overhaul of the uniform, including new pants, jerseys (including an alternate), and helmet.” None of this is verified yet.

PS. Please don't let this devolve into a pissing match about blue.
I would love a nice Orange colored jersey. That's all I ask for. I don't care what accompanies with it. Just give me Orange.
That being said, anyone know where I can get an Orange 44 jersey that is "Stitched" not screen printed? All the 44's I see have screen printed numbers on them. Hell, I'm not picky with the color. I just want a stitched Syracuse football jersey.
Well. you were wearing white, everyone else had Orange.:noidea:Says the guy who rags on anyone at the tailgate not wearing orange.
So, they were using masking tape for numerals back then?Somebody else posted this link a while back. I opened it and immediately bought it. I have to say it's pretty sweet.
