2015-16 Preseason Top 5

I think were about where we were ranked last year, in the 21-25 range. If Dc2 is healthy, and the freshman play well, we could be a top 15 team.

SU unlikely to be ranked preseason. We have no "name" star returning and we don't have a big name top 10 recruit entering. That is what the media looks for. Doesn't mean we can't break into the rankings later if our record warrants.

We have 4 returning starters, and a top 4 incoming class, its not unreasonable.

Yeah, but one of those starters is Cooney.

Unfortunately I think UVa gets Maryland again... at least this time it will be in Charlottesville... I loathe that school with all that is good... But the BiG and ACC will probably pair Duke/Wiscy or MSU ... UNC will get OSU maybe... ND & Indiana... Louisville & Mich... not sure where Syracuse will land here, but I'm going Purdue or MSU...

So I guess since UMD will likely be the top Big Ten sending them to UVA makes sense, but I think UVA won't want the matchup if possible and would likely want the 2nd Big Ten team Indiana if possible.

Wichita is legit. Baker and Van Vleet are a great college backcourt. There isn't a coach in the country that wouldn't take them.

yes, it's a solid backcourt. no, that team will not be top-10 good next year.

Knowing these distinctions, I see Cuse getting either Wisconsin, Purdue, or Michigan. And with Michigan in the Battle 4 Atlantis and the fact we played them last year, its not very likely. Wisconsin would be ideal but Purdue is not a bad alternative...I originally thought we would be #3 amongst the ACC teams getting a home game, but the Wolfpack will be ranked in the preseason and I could see them jumping ahead of us and getting Wisconsin instead of us.

We didn't have a star returning last year, we will get a courtesy 22nd ranking, something like that, just because we are syracuse.

Anybody check out Duke's potential roster situation at this point.

Lose Quinn Cook already, assured to lose Okafor, likely Winslow, and also Tyus Jones.

That would leave them with 5 returning players. Including the transfer from Rice Obi. Allen, Matt Jones, Marshall Plumlee, and Jefferson.

They do have 2 five stars in Chase Jeter and Luke Kennard. But they are no Okafor and Jones. Perhaps they get Brandon Ingram seems to be the only other 5 star consensus player they are in on.

Just saying. Does that roster scare anybody right now. Doesn't me.

I think we get Michigan or Wisconsin at the Dome next year in the B1G-ACC.

I bet we get Maryland @ Duke, North Carolina @ Ohio State, Indiana @ Virginia, Notre Dame @ Michigan State, Louisville @ Minnesota.

Several good story lines...and ESPN can grab some great video from games past. What IU game isn't complete without watching Keith Smart again? And just when you are getting really depressed...they bring out Sherman's ball hike through his legs.

Indiana is going to be the 2nd best B1G team I doubt they matchup as up with them. The top 2 ACC teams UVA and Duke will get Maryland and Indiana the top B1G teams.
I think we get a mid B1G team for next year like Wisconsin, Michigan, or Purdue.

I believe Plumlee is also gone he signed up for the military or something and will not be back for bball.

I think they pick up another big time recruit and Dylan Ennis.
