I have to say, after the yanks won that game in Boston , yankee fans and broadcast types, had smirks on their face like it was over. I expected the series to go 5. And I had no idea who was going to win.

If the Astros didn’t have 103 wins then it would have sucked more.
However I can live with 1 vs. 3 2 vs.4

1 vs. 2 in the ALDS is unacceptable.

The whole idea is to reward the team that has the best record by letting them play the lesser team which is usually the wild card team.

They can simplify it by just having the team with the best record play the team with the weakest record. NY won a lot more games than Cleveland which played in the weakest division by far in the AL.

After taking Porcello I swear to god I was posting the opposite of what I wanted to happen as a reverse jinx.
Obviously I got everything wrong except the Joe Kelly thing.

Simple Fix. Play the wild card game as is. Then seed wild card winner amongst the 3 division winners. In that scenario Red Sox open with Cleveland and Yankees play Houston. To appease the regular season means something crowd you can still make the wild card winner open on the road team even with a better record. Wild card team can only open at home if they play other league's WC team in the World Series.

Red Sox got lucky the Yankees fans fell in love with Torres during the season and made him untradeable for DeGrom.
Mets weren’t trading DeGrom without a stud and the Yankees made Torres untouchable.
Yankees rotation was their downfall.
