Harper Time...
What would you give up for Harper?
Your talking Sheffield/Frazier for the Nationals to turn off their fanbase.

If it’s only 3 weeks the Yankees are fine. If it’s the season go ahead and make the deal as got a WS type team.

No Judge.

No Sanchez.

3 rookies if you count Bird.

Harper Time.

Unleash the Kraken of prospects.

And we’ll take another pitcher while we’re at it.

Thank you.

It was a 5 out inning, and a 13 pitch at bat that Betts won.

I'd like to hope that with Torres and Bird in the field, that 13 pitch at bat never happens.

the blue jays defense is horrific..not just in terms of errors, but in terms of plays not made. betts had just hit a foul pop up that justin smoak , due to his glacial speed, had clank off his glove...then betts has the at bat of his life..fouling off pitch after pitch...to get to 3-2...then he took a 95 mph fastball off his shoe tops out to LF. Not sure you can expect anyone to do more than Happ did to get out of that inning

Well I think the packages sent for both Britton and Happ plus Frazier gets you real close for Bumgarner.

Your farm system is deep.

if you were trading with a fantasy baseball general manager and trying to fool them with bulk. That package might get you Madison's pet beagle.

Beyond Torres/Andujar your prospects should be available.
You guys didn’t give up junk for Britton/Happ.
It was a 40 man cramp issue for sure but these were good prospects.

Give up the 5 bodies you gave up plus Frazier and your real close with SF.
Again these guys are MLB level prospects not garbage.

I agree. It is too bad Frazier is hurt too, they are probably going to recall Wade again. I'll take 3 weeks. I was concerned it was a much bigger injury because they initially said he was going for an MRI, which made me concerned there was ligament and/or soft tissue damage. They didn't mention the CT until later, which is what I thought they would have ordered to check for fracture initially.

Frazier could be back up by next week I think if everything goes well. While the farm system is still ridiculously deep we have cleared out a good amount of upper minor league outfield depth the last few years that we would have given us plenty of call up options had this occurred last year or the year before.

I actually think it’s a testiment to how deep the Yankees farm system had become because of Cashman making good trades and the player development system.

I never said the Yankees traded their top prospects. I just said the guys they traded weren’t fringe prospects they are good hauls for Toronto and Baltimore who don’t have good farm systems.

Tate was the only "decent" prospect and scouts have been down on him for sometime now.

Go look at Didi when he was with Arizona. He wasn’t good his first 2 years and he found a good spot and has developed.
Drury could easily become a solid everyday player and develop now that he has a spot to play every day and team giving him PT.
He was a good player for Toronto to acquire as they control him thru 2022 for 3 months of Happ.

Rogers has good numbers and is a lefty. He will be a major league player. His minor numbers are good. I gotta say looking at these trades the Yankees minor league pitching instructors have to be the best or close in all of baseball. They are developing prospects.
Rogers to the Yankees wasn’t a top 10 prospect or even top 20 prospect for the Yankees he is now the 11th best prospect for baltimore.

The trade was a win-win which is how most should be but I don’t think the Yankees overpaid I just think Baltimore did well for how little prospects they had before dealing Machado and Britton.

Frazier is on concussion #2 this year as of July 11. I don't think it looks quite as attractive.

Unless SF is bluffing on Baumgarner, I think it's going to take more than anyone wants to give up. He's under control for one more year right?

Knowing the Yankees they will make a godfather offer for Scherzer and Harper.
I will always expect a team to give stuff away to New York that is why I said Toronto and Baltimore actually did well and it was the Red Sox paid nothing for Eovaldi.

Happ will be good for the Yankees.

Had no run support and lack of quality relief in toronto.

Should shine with the Yanks.

Are there any big money starting pitchers teams are likely to salary dump in the offseason that could be scooped up by the Yankees?

Max Scherzer is going to be 34.
If they want to pay Harper he could be moved.
