2018 Yankees Thread...

Well I think the packages sent for both Britton and Happ plus Frazier gets you real close for Bumgarner.

Your farm system is deep.

I was going to say the same thing. take the players from the britton and happ trades and add sanchez and you get a front line pitcher.

Something could still be in the works. Swoop Cashman has until 4 PM Tuesday. Yankees have players at all levels including the ML roster that might be chips to pry a front line starter loose.

The Yankees are looking to bolster their starting pitching, and Happ has had success against the Red Sox, the Yankees' chief rival in the American League East, with a 0.84 ERA in two starts against Boston this season. In his last outing against the Red Sox, he gave up five runs, including a grand slam to Mookie Betts, in a 6-4 loss, but the runs were unearned. He is 7-4 with a 2.98 ERA in his career against the Red Sox.

The Yankees and Red Sox play 10 more times this season.

He has had success against the Sox. I acknowledged that. I watched the game you referenced. The Sox did to him what they've done to most pitchers this season. Made him throw 98 pitches in 3-2/3 innings and knocked him out of the game in the 4th.

Thanks for the schedule update.

Here's my belief - the Yankees are intentionally keeping the position player prospects to stay out of the bidding wars for Harper and Machado and use their free agent dollars towards starting pitching.

Calling it now - Patrick Corbin is in pin stripes next season.

Corbin is kind of a given. Still need another starter too.

By almost all accounts, San Fran is going to move MadBum and anyone who suggests trading Sanchez now is a fool

I don’t think so. There was not a big prospect in either move. I don’t think you land a front line pitcher without one.

Beyond Torres/Andujar your prospects should be available.
You guys didn’t give up junk for Britton/Happ.
It was a 40 man cramp issue for sure but these were good prospects.

Give up the 5 bodies you gave up plus Frazier and your real close with SF.
Again these guys are MLB level prospects not garbage.

The guy who scared me was Madison Bumgarner.
I mean Yankees have added 2 good pitchers can’t do anything but tip the cap to good moves but they paid legit prospects to get them.
Bumgarner is the guy in October where I felt he wins a game by himself.
He is available for the right package.
LEGIT PROSPECTS???!!!!

They’ve given up nobody.

Not 1 guy who make the 2019 offseason 40.

Not 1.

Yanks aren’t scared off Just Dianabol Martinez.

Poppycock.

Nobody is taking Frazier right now anyway.

They may take Sanchez, but he’s untouchable.

Yanks got rentals...and have kept...EVERYONE.

E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E.

This cannot be spun any other way.

This is jeopardy and after reading the ‘pain’, the answer is...

Who are 5 guys who won’t make the 2018 & 2019 New York Yankees, Alex.

Oh fluck, did Judge just break his wrist??

Tate was a top 10 prospect.
BA had him 9th and Baseball Prospectus had him 6th in the Yankees system.
Drury is a ML talent. He is going to be a solid everyday player.
McKinley is a former first round pick and he was on your 40 man roster so he was protected from the rule 5.
He has talent and wasn’t a throwaway prospect.

Josh Rodgers is a lefty who has had a sub-3.00 ERA in the last three levels he’s been on, and he has a collective 2.67 ERA in the minors. That means he is a major pitcher. Most likely in the bullpen.

You gave up legit prospects.
They weren’t your top guys but they were good players. Most of them were guys Cashman had acquired in selling Beltran/Chapman.

These guys weren’t big names but for rentals Baltimore and Toronto did well.

McKinley was added to the 40 when there were injuries and would’ve been dropped this offseason, unless you think he beats out Judge, Stanton, Hicks maybe 1 more year of Gardy and Frazier.

Hey Drury is a big leaguer, but unless you think he beats out Torres and Andujar, he’s useless. They did him a solid.

Scuttle is Tate is nothing but maybe a middle guy.

Rodgers, who knows??

But he’s not Britton in 2018.

The rest, ehh.

More concerned with Judge...

At worst it’s not a season ender for Judge.

I bet it’s just a bruise and you give him the weekend off. Worst case its broken and he is out 4-6 weeks.

Even if he is a Yankee he is one of those guys you like. Hope it’s not a break.

These injuries. When it rains...

Unclear tells me they saw something, either a hairline fracture or a chip.

Can’t tell me the Yankee X-Ray machine all of sudden needed windex and they had none.

Hell, just run out to 161st and grab a bottle off a squeegee guy.

Damn that sucks but good news he doesn’t need surgery.

If the wrist can heal naturally he won’t lose any bat speed. That is the most important thing with wrist injuries. Nomar needed surgery and that is what killed him. If Judge doesn’t need surgery he should be okay down the road.
