At the start of September Yankees had the best record in baseball. Now 3rd as Boone has rested and skipped his starters for weeks costing games. Astros and Dodgers keep in regular turn even this week after clinching. Good bye home field advantage. Will this 3 week hangover of basically playing .500 ball carry over into ALDS?

I’ve been complaining about that for a couple weeks. First we lost the AL home field advantage now we’ve lost the WS home field advantage unless the astros and dodgers can be upset.

They prioritized health and rest over two potential home games. It might not work-out, but I am okay with the approach.

And there was no guarantee that playing every game balls to the wall to win would have yielded a different result in the end. It's baseball, after all, and winning series as consistently as this team did for much of the season despite the injuries was pretty damn remarkable.

Next week the slate is wiped clean for everyone. Go Yanks, one round at time.
