2019 Yankees Thread...

Yankees rotation just needs Paxton to step up.
It’s really only Houston that can beat you guys in the playoffs.

Minnesota/Cleveland are both flawed.

Houston has the pitching and offense when healthy.

Oakland is a regular season team.
Boston has no pitching do it’s job.

It’s New York and Houston
It's July. A lot of things can change between now and October. A lot of things.

Don’t get me wrong the Yankees would prefer not to play the Red Sox in the playoffs just like the Red Sox didn’t want the Yankees in the first round last year.
Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park are advantages over all other teams except each other. Fenway doesn’t faze the Yankees and Yankee Stadium doesn’t faze the Sox.

I am just being a realist. It’s Houston and New York in the AL this year.

I'm just being a realist. No one has ever won anything in July. We will know more after the Monday deadline. Both New York and Houston need a big starting pitcher. Who from the Yanks goes against Verlander or Cole in games 1 and 2? Who pitches for Houston in game 3 or 4? Neither team would want to face the defending champs.

Stroman is the guy I think the Yankees will trade for.
Not sure what it will cost but the Blue Jays never get good value from the Yankees.

Last year people were complaining McKinney and Drury were too much to give up for Happ..

So Happ did the job last year to the degree he was expected .. he resigned for this year so that isn’t technically part of the trade

Meanwhile Drury and mckinney suuuukk

Houston getting Stroman would sort of force the Yankees hand even more

These teams are trading to win World Series , not just make the playoffs .. a World Series win makes virtually any deal a good one

You can’t end it like that and say you’re being a realist. I think either team is fine facing them. You’re still my favorite Sox fan though. I hope the team appreciates you.

Boston Massacre is on. Hope to salvage one of these games.

Yankee offense is equally as bad as Yankee starting pitching.

Andrew Cashner can't get guys out in a beer league. But he can look the part. (of the guy in a beer league).

Baseball is a very weird game. Anything can happen, particularly in a short series.

And Maybin heads back to the DL...

Might not have happened, but I think someone at the MLB office wanted to guarantee another Mookie at bat.

Obvious foul ball called fair and upheld. Guess that's just the charm of Fenway!

If they ever decided to purge the HoF of unworthy members, Perez would be near the front of the line.

Oh that's relevant. Maybe take off your black and white colored glasses and realize your hero can be a man next time and fire people face to face if he wants to be an executive.

I guess Jeet doesn't hand out gift baskets in parting down in Miami like he did in NY.

Gee, I'm glad I didn't post what came to my mind first, which was I didn't even realize Perez was in the Hall of Fame.

Obviously you have no intelligent response to what I posted about Jeter's actions as an executive. Typical of you the past several years.

JMO but he's a worthy HoF member. I remember Perez as an RBI machine. I know he was surrounded by phenomenal talent but he was a beast. There are > 80 position players in the HoF that have fewer career RBI than Perez.

Have we discussed Jeter as executive before? FWIW, I think he's doing a terrible job in that role.

Harold Baines is the only MLB HOF the last 15 years I would suggest wasn’t worthy of enshrinement.
He was a veterans committee election as well and Tony LaRussa lobbied that committee big time to get him in.

I never saw Pérez play but 2700+ hits atleast I can see why he got in.
