Honestly I've never understood the attraction to the curmudgeonly Showalter. Is it his dynamic personality?
It can't be his managerial record. Barely over .500 in 20 seasons, he won one playoff series over that entire period.

The reason I missed it was because I was scanning for direct Cashman quotes; my bad.
Tangental rant: I hate this article. If Cashman said something that significant, the author should have quoted him directly, not paraphrased.
I guess it's not a big deal anyway. I think we would all assume that if the Yankees continue to lose ground and find themselves 10ish games out, they would probably sell. I doubt Cashman expects that to happen. I do not either.
